honestly, it's more due to federal, state and local regulations than anything. in europe they can't have a town meeting about where the next cell tower would be, but here we do and then the people of said town complain about coverage... so many hurdles have to be crossed here to put up a decent network. look at every carriers prepaid coverage, that is their NATIVE coverage.......... why don't they have more?????? RURAL carriers and the GOVERNMENT............................. we are such tight wads in the US and against monopolies that it hurts the average joe consumer............ if we were europe, we wouldn't have coverage problems anywhere............ but we live in a double standard society... angry customers want to use their phone everywhere, but don't want to look a t a cell tower a few hundred yards from their house....... boo hoo.

actually, at one time my job was contractual disputes and executive escalations. i know what the terms of service said and every carrier has it...
'coverage not avalible everywhere'
'service cannot be guaranteed at all times'
'there may be changes in your coverage and or service area'
so yes, i know the legalities of it very well.
