  1. Review - Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2)

    Technical Preview (Mar 20, 2004)

A move in the right direction, works well on my computer.

  2. Review - WinZip

    9.0 (Feb 25, 2004)

Winzip is an excellent program with an easy to use interface. I have used many other similar programs over the years & realise everyone has their own preferences. This is my favorite & the one I recommend.

  3. Review - Easy CD & DVD Creator Platinum Update

    5.3.4.21 (Feb 12, 2003)

Works reliably and effectively with properly matched hardware. I like it, and have always found it effective and fast.

  4. Review - Logitech MouseWare

    9.75 Build 302 (Nov 28, 2002)

Works fine, so did the last version. If you find your mouse is too sensitive (comment below) check setting and reduce the sensitivity - it's easy to do that.

  5. Comment - Chinese President to Visit Gates Home

I see very little relevance in your comments. No, I don't sanction dictatorships and I am fortunate to live in one of the world's better democracies and freer societies (Australia). I don't hate China, nor do I hate Communists even if I disagree with their philosophies. If I (or you) won't talk with them (or others we disagree with) the world will never improve. I don't know Bill's politics, but I would suggest he is an adherent to capitalism and not communism...

  6. Comment - The Show Goes On

    9.75 Build 302 (Sep 21, 2001 - 7:41 AM)

The events of September 11 have shocked the world and caused sadness and grief in many nations, including my own. Like so many others I have felt numbed with sadness for the victims in New York and Washington and feel sympathy for the people of the USA. I support an effective response to terrorism in all forms because absolutely nothing can ever justify an expression of views or ideals through commission of terrorist acts, nothing. It will be almost impossible to stop terrorism completely, but I support developing effort to try do so and hope those efforts are maintained for as long as necessary. Issues that breed terrorism are complex and sometimes very sad and they deserve extensive study. It is true that nations fostering or harbouring terrorism contain many innocent and good people who have no part in it. The role of the free world will be to help and assist those people, but it remains that the first assistance we give them will be the action we take to bring terrorism to an end. This, in my view, is the only realistic approach.

  7. Comment - The Truth About Windows Activation

    9.75 Build 302 (May 19, 2001 - 6:24 PM)

I live in Australia and have been deeply offended by Microsoft's action, making my very expensive MSOffice 2000 install like 'trialware'. I significantly upgrade my computer around twice in each year, and always reinstall (it is good practice to do so!) when I upgrade. Every single time Office has gone through the same trialware routine. I have registered every single piece of software I have bought from Microsoft through the last ten years, have used Windows and Office through many versions. Now Microsoft deals with me as if I am a potential thief and I will now look for viable alternatives in OS's and productivity suites that don't query my honesty as MS feels they have the right to do.
