  1. Review - Agnitum Outpost Firewall Pro (32-bit)

    2008 (6.0.2293.253.0490) (Apr 23, 2008)

Wow, looks like someone's on an hate filled agenda. I've been using Outpost for years now and while their version 6 started out pretty rough, it's been solid for months. I have it on both XP and Vista and I wouldn't change. If you want a personal firewall with very granular control, this is the one.

  2. Review - Agnitum Outpost Firewall Pro (32-bit)

    2008 (6.0.2168.211.415.268) (Nov 4, 2007)

One of the most powerful person firewalls you can get. Their new version 6 is going through some rapid changes and so far I haven't had any problems with it.

  3. Review - YamiPod for Windows

    0.99.4 Beta 2 (Aug 7, 2006)

I tried running this on my work PC to connect to my iPod and I got an obscure error code. After tracing it down on their forums the solution is to install iTunes first. If I need iTunes installed on my PC to get YamiPod to work, why bother.

  4. Review - Fresh UI

I don't appreciate the registration process for a freeware app.

  5. Review - Autoruns

I love this tool. Very handy to track to items running in your OS. Filter out the Microsoft signed items to make it even easier to track down suspects.

  6. Comment - Next Windows PowerShell will have GUI, remote management support

    8.51 (May 7, 2008 - 8:21 PM)

Sure NT didn't use any resources until you moved the mouse and the CPU shot to 100% effectively hanging the machine any users connected to it.

  7. Comment - The virtualization challenge and whether IT is ready

    8.51 (Mar 5, 2008 - 10:28 PM)

It's not that complicated and Microsoft isn't inventing something new here. There are plenty of IT shops, mine included, that run large scale virtualization for years. In fact, in the next 6 months, over 75% of our x86 hardware will be running in virtual machines on a cluster of blade servers. The amount of money saved, increased ease of support and deployment, make this a no brainer. The days of buying a 1u server for every single request and having it sit at 1% utilization are over.

I take it you've never see a Catfish?

  9. Comment - NTP Fires Back at RIM, Trademark Office

    8.51 (Feb 23, 2006 - 10:16 PM)

I just wish I was a lawyer for either side. They're the ones making all the money off this.

    A total waste of process.

  10. Comment - Two More NTP Patents Deemed Invalid

    8.51 (Jan 2, 2006 - 2:22 PM)

I'm no fan of Crackberries but I hope they beat this money grab by NTP.
