0.4.1 (Nov 3, 2009)
A good start, but still not ready for 1.0. Looks like it will be a good competitor to WinMerge, although i wonder if this will introduce any better or new features - can't see any yet:
- Won't copy left/right and move to the next change - requires 2 different icon presses/key commands.
- Doesn't compare 2 folders of files.
- Wants to copy each line of changes separately rather than each block of changes (or option of either) unless i select the text first.
- Merge Left then Right function is not explained anywhere. Can't make sense of what it does anyway.
Despite its shortcomings i'll keep watching this with interest.
2.0 (May 18, 2009)
My comments below are still valid unfortunately. The "Free for Personal Use" version is still available. The exporting to Word and PDF are good additions and work well.
5.3.2.450 (Feb 2, 2009)
Free version puts a banner in the image. Even Pro Trial still has this. I can not configure my DirectShow USB camera source size with this - greyed out. General features look good.
2.4 (Nov 16, 2008)
Interface is ok, although some items are not intuitive and some labels still leave me wondering. 2 biggest issues for me is: 1. Slow to startup (10s) 2. The browser mode interface does not show tree view and even seems to not show the folders very distinctly. I went to flat mode, now it won't go back to the browser mode. I also allows to you browse outside of the archive which can get confusing if you didn't intend to.
5.1.1 (Nov 13, 2008)
Excellent general text editor and code aware editor. I prefer it over others (PSPad) despite the below issues:
Many plugins no longer work with this version. Plugin list does not give version compatibilty and you can't download all plugins or groups of plugins in one download.
The menus need reorganisation. Many items are in the TextFX menu which should be in Edit. There are so many options (100's) that i would prefer to have a menu search function to find what i am looking for.
