  1. Review - FlashGet

    1.70 (Aug 10, 2005)

It is Freeware now. So Betanews may want to change it. And it no longer contains any Spyware or Ads.

And this makes Flashget the best DM again.

  2. Review - SmartFTP (x86)

    1.1 Build 985 Beta (Mar 9, 2005)

  3. Review - Easy CD-DA Extractor

    7.7.1 (Jan 11, 2005)

I don't understand why the Review below still withstand?

Window is totally useless because there is Linux?
Nothing is totally useless in this world. And nothing is perfect either.

Easy CD DA does offer Cdex and Exact Audio Copy 's secure error free ( or less error prone ) correction copying. But Out of the 3 Easy CDDA is easily the best UI design by far.

And that is why i use it. Because i like it.
Nope it is not free. But people have different stand on that. Download and try for yourself.

  5. Comment - Apple was NOT more profitable selling cell phones than Nokia in Q3

    1.23 (Nov 14, 2009 - 2:09 AM)

For the Sake of Argument. Nokia dont earn 1.1 Billion solely on Mobile Phones as well. While the "news" Apple is more profitable handset maker then Nokia may not be true. Nokia Siemens Networks, a Join Venture makes over 30Billion Revenue / year. Even at 50/50 split for accounting purpose, that is 15 Billion Revenue / year. I dont have exact value, but even at 10% profit margin that would account to 400M per Quarter. Subtracting off, Nokia may be only making 700M from Mobile Phones.

Ofcoz, this is an estimate, if Apple manage to make 50% of profits from iPhone, they will still be the most profitable Handset maker.

Although i doubt it is as high as 50%, i guess 30%+ isn't far off.

  6. Comment - Silverlight 4 to do for PCs what HD DVD couldn't

    1.23 (Sep 9, 2009 - 11:35 PM)

While i agree in some cases ( or even most cases now ) Sliverlight is better then Flash 10. There are few points that is toally wrong
VC 1 is not superior to H,264
VC 1 is not the default usage in Blu Ray
And Some how Sliverlight 3 now Defaults to H.264

  7. Comment - Firefox 3.6 needs more, better features to compete against Chrome 3

    1.23 (Aug 10, 2009 - 9:40 PM)

Exactly as Thartist said. Firefox doesn't need more features. It is properly the most features rich browser on the planet atm. ( Including Plug In of coz )
Firefox needs SPEED, needs trimming down, and needs more security. Which is lacking behind Chrome.

I was hoping Firefox 3.6 gets more speed increase.....

  8. Comment - Windows XP forever? The OS that just won't die

    1.23 (Aug 6, 2009 - 10:59 PM)

How can people compare to the transition from 98 to XP? Everyone knew Windows 2000 was way better then 98 in terms of Stability. It prove one thing, it doesn't matter if your desktop is pretty, it doesn't matter if it could have higher software compatibility and run more apps. If your Desktop will not function properly, then it is useless.

Win 98, or even Win Me, was like the only choice on PC. Some decided to switch to Win 2000, for those who need games, they could only stick to Win Me. Nearly Everyone knows Win 2000 was many times stabler then 98. And XP was an improved version of Win 2000 with 98 compatibility add in.

The change was huge, i could still remember how many news site reporting they no longer need to reboot, no BSOD, no Ctrl-Alt-Del for months. Many people were used to do CtrlAltDel everyday. if not every few hours.

Reinstalling Win98 was like a every week / month procedure. There are many things gone wrong that fixing would require much more time then Clean install.

When was the last time you did Clean Install of XP and CtrlAltDelto reboot? In my scale, i average out do around 20 - 30 reboot per month in 98. And properly less then 5 in XP, or even less when SP1 arrived. That is more then 5 times improvement. As a matter of fact, I remember my record of NO BSOD and no Reboot for 6 months. That is a staggering improvement compare to Win98.

Windows Vista and Windows 7 does improve on that, but no way near to that scale. People then think in terms of other benefits that Windows 7 pricing brings and compromise.

  9. Comment - Mozilla: We'll keep pushing for Ogg Theora in HTML 5

    1.23 (Jul 24, 2009 - 2:18 PM)

But Sliverlight 3.0 is a better option then Flash 10 at the moment. I hope Flash can do something in the upcoming version. At least in terms of H.264, Sliverlight 3.0 is handling it much better.

I think HTML should leave out an audio codec. After all HTML is an markup language. It shouldn't force a single codec usage. I strongly believe if Theroa is better then H.264 in everyway, quality, less CPU demanding, Free then no one would object it. But it is completely the opposite. H.264 is better in every way.
