   Review - Winamp 5 Lite

   It's true that Winamp is bloated even for its Lite version. It was a very good AUDIO player. Now it's more like a media suite with usseless visualization, video support, media manager, CD ripper, and all the remaining craps.
   
   But one thing I consider it irreplaceable is that its capability as an audio player and with all of thoe various audio format plugins.
   
   Two tips for those who want to make Winamp loads faster and uses much less memory:
   
   - Use the Lite version of Winamp.
   
   - Use only classic skin.
   
   - Move all unused & rarely plugin DLL files OUT of the plugins folder and into a separate folder. e.g. "Disabled Plugins".
   
   IMO, there should have been an "Audio Edition" of Winamp Lite where it serves as an audio-only player like the old Winamp. Of course, without the CD ripper and visualization crap.

   Review - Adobe Media Player

   It's kinda late for Adobe to jump into the media player competition. Overall, it's a good player but a bit bloated.
   
   For Mac users, it's a must. But for Windows users, better use your current favorite player with a FLV DirectShow filter.
   
   I can see its future matured version already. It would be like Windows Media Player. Heavy and bloated, and probably even more.

   Review - GPU-Z

   Same lock up here. I suspect it's driver conflicts with other hardware tweak utilities when run at the same time. With that suspicion, I stop & close the other hardware tweak utilities when I need to run GPU-Z. I've never had locks up since then. So I'll score it as 4 since it's a useful program.

   Review - nVIDIA ForceWare Drivers for Windows 2000/XP (32-bit)

   Although the classic control panel can be enabled manually via registry, it's like Artem said - the panel is crippled and has user interface glitch that make the interface a little unstable.
   
   And yes, it's becoming bloatware than ever. More likely be worse than ATI driver. It's not ISP's nor the programmer's fault. It's nVidia's vision fault since it controls what to give to the users.
   
   It's so called Unified Driver - aka. "All for one, and one to rule them all" is a joke. The proof is that the driver can't rule them all. No, really.
   
   From what I've known from nVidia users in forums and blogs, more and more various complaints regarding the drivers are pouring. Ironically, it's the other way around for ATI driver.

6. Comment - Greener Gadgets: Are people really saving money with 'green PCs?'

   Today's so called "Green PCs" are nonsense. If they do care about the environment, how come newer PCs produce more heat and have more cooling fans than the older ones? Those "Green PC" stickers are just bussiness tricks.

7. Comment - Embedded Java-on-a-chip could lead to 'smarter trash'

   Green tech using Java is not a very good match. Java is known to be a resource hog and slow. The chip is more likely a hardware byte-code interpreter which would be much slower than any other processor chip. It'll be a trash, a smart trash - literally. This is just an example of bussiness practice. The green intention is merely a bumper sticker.

   If TPB wins, it'll be more stronger than ever, have more supporter than ever and more famous than ever. And it'll be much harder to be dragged into court. Thanks to this trial.
   
   If TPB looses, I bet it will try to go to a higher court (sorry, don't know the correct term for this) and fight till the end. Of course with the help of the vast supporters around the globe.
   
   However, if in the end TPB looses, there'll be a lot (I mean A LOT) of angry people. Let's just hope it won't get worst.
   
   The verdict will be the largest internet news ever, nonetheless.

9. Comment - Schwarzenegger to CeBIT: 'Go green!'

   Have I misunderstood here? Why would he try to pump up the audience that would increase probability of sold products - which are so-called "green products"? Doesn't that contradicts with being green? More buyers means more junks - the old ones they have. He should try to lower down the number of audience instead.
   
   PS) Why the news here lack of photos?

    Good plan as long as it's faster, uses less power and produces less heat. The last point is critical.
