How about an English language version?

  2. Comment - Microsoft Investigates Leak of Windows Source Code

    2.3 Beta 3 (Feb 14, 2004 - 1:38 PM)

    Wow!

Just think what an open source Windows could be. With the bug fixes and code updates from open source developers, Windows might actually become what it claims to already be -- a viable, working OS.

  3. Comment - Longhorn to 'Sparkle' With New Developer Tool

    2.3 Beta 3 (Nov 12, 2003 - 3:22 AM)

I admit ignorance of this subject, but what little I have read of XAML, it reminds me of XUL used by Mozilla?

Does anyone know if this is another MS ripoff of someone else's stuff?

OR, is this something completely different than XUL?

  4. Comment - Longhorn and More: BetaNews PDC 2003 Wrap-Up

    2.3 Beta 3 (Nov 4, 2003 - 3:41 AM)

"Beneath Aero lies a new graphics subsystem dubbed "Avalon." Avalon powers the Longhorn interface, as well as the display of documents and media. Developers will take advantage of a new markup language based on XML – appropriately dubbed "XAML" – to create Avalon interfaces."

This sounds like XUL which is used in Mozilla/Firebird/Thunderbird...

"To additionally help guide developers on the road to Longhorn, Microsoft has created an all-encompassing programming model called WinFX. Mostly theory at this point, WinFX will eventually form the APIs that define Windows."

Gee, WinFX sounds like WindowFX which is part of ObjectDesktop!
