This should be considered adware and the intentionally misleading way to opt out... (Even if you dont agree to adding Yahoo search to the toolbar (originally i thought it was an option to add the toolbar WITH yahoo search), it is STILL autoselected and enabled during installation unless you explicitly uncheck it from installing.. Just telling people this is NOT GOOD ENOUGH)....
This is particularly egregarious behavior for an OSS app, if one doee not opt for the toolbar, one should NOT have it try to insert itself in the install tree and have to manually unselect it AS WELL
This is an OPEN SOURCE APP.... SHAME ON YOU for trying to make a profit at the expense of users privacy AND security.
Shame. I always liked this app.....but like a relationship with baggage, the baggage has got to go, or it will permanently be uninstalled never to be seen again.
If your that desprate for income, at least use a known "safe" toolbar from one of the major players with predictable behavior (Google/MSN/etc) and not some piece of obscure spyware that redirects your serches through itself
(this is the toolbars post-uninstall link)

The fact of the matter this author initially used deceptive dialogs (that have been clarified in more recent versions) to install the adware AND pushed adware to users during an online upgrade without a consent or asking their permission, along with hiding himself using domains by proxy as a domain name shield service should speak for his lack of integrety...
Not worth the risk vector
2.1 Build 1800 (Feb 12, 2009)
I had the previous version and ended up uninstalling it due to the bugs.. Never recieved an answer to my questions/comments/problems sent via their web form to their site, on a few occasions.. Its nice when it works, but somehow it lost its connection to IE freuqently and didn't like file transfers from the admin pages of my router even when bypassed and "use IE" was used to download
2007 SP1 (May 16, 2008)
Excluding Vista Home Premium from using this app since Windows XP Media Center could run it is a slap in the face from Microsoft... Thanks for the downgrade Billy.

Its not a bad application for doing what it does.
As to the question of privacy/security, the only problem I see is between the keyboard and users posting up their belarc profiles to the web. Other than that, I haven't seen any evidence of wrongdoing and Belarc seems to be keeping up with their end of the deal.. Database Ben, If you can show us ALL the sniffed data and what actually gets sent to Belarc, perhaps wed be more inclined to believe your conspiracy theroy... I'd like to see this myself.. Untill then, your just shouting fire in a theater and trying to cause panic.. If a user has good internet practices and security, there shouln't be a problem ...Id like to mention that since it checks for MS security fixes, of COURSE its going to be updated every month...
Still waiting for your proof Ben..

Nice to see these people are a buncha patent trolls.. I used their product years ago and it was just awful.. So they waited for someone to do it better to snap the lawyers out.. Really think its time for patent reform.. if you don't use it or even attempt to keep it current you lose it....I love how they just threw up a update to it recently to make it appear is if its a current IP theft.. Worlds is as bad as SCO in the patent-trolling wading pool.. Tend to agree with the others. I hope they get clobbered on Prior-Art

Theres a update to MS works 8.X that seems to break on every machine iv tried to install it on... Even causing some machines not to reboot.. DO NOT install it

Most third party apps do not support webcam and many do not support voice/telephony.. and MS messengers video/audio is only compatible with itself... Yahoo's web conferencing app also seems to be more robust then say.. AOL's...AOL's tends to be very irate about firewall configuration..
I tend to use Pidgin for most things, but if i need to webconference, usually it ends up being Yahoo... (common denominator)

Another luddite trying to push their agenda on the naieve public... If you can show me scientific proof that this affects people as dramatically as you say, and it affects YOU then mebby there should be a resolution. But I should not have to go out of my way for your paranoia... If you feel the need/desire to wear shielding on your body thats fine, but why dont you lock yourself in a metal room with bars and get some substatiated double-blind proof ...

HD Radio is not really expensive (by broadcast standards for the station)... Ibiquity is passing on almost ALL the cost on a per-user/device model... as in the King Gilette model where the head end equipment is actually quite inexpensive (for broadcast equipment) but theres a per unit fee of around 50$ PER radio that goes right to Ibiquity's pocket.. This is part of the reason HD radio is a dying animal.. and that Ibiquity is trying to force the FCC to make them put HD radio in each SDARS/Sat Radio unit... basically pushing a failed buisness model and making a guarenteed profit on HD Radio
