9.20 Build 8746 Beta (Mar 18, 2007)
Just to clarify a few things. This build is NOT a beta! It is a weekly build. Weekly builds are experimental development snapshots. You should EXPECT to find problems.
You can find descriptions of the various kind of builds Opera puts out here: http://snapshot.opera.com/
This is the description for weekly builds:
weekly:
- cutting edge; alpha quality; often contains critical bugs
- distributed to a very limited audience via the Desktop Team blog
- typically available every Friday, though sometimes more or less often
- should never be installed over or substituted for a final release
- data backup is highly recommended before use
Given this description, I don't think betanews should post these builds!
9.02 Build 8585 RC2 (Sep 19, 2006)
Everything looks OK so far. Sometimes opera gets stuck loading a page, which can be annoying, but that's my only 'major' problem at the moment.
@alanpalmer and anonymouscowturd,
1. go to Help > check for updates (this will download an updated browser.js patch to your HDD, see http://my.opera.com/hallvors/blog/show.dml/471328 for details)
2. Clear your cache
3. go to mail.yahoo.com
Do note that some things do not work yet and that this patch is still in beta! But at least the page will load now ;)
9.0 Beta 1 (Apr 20, 2006)
@DaComboMan
There IS Content blocking in opera 9 Beta! Maybe you should first read the changelog and try the program? Anyway, right-click on a page and choose 'block content'. You don't even have to install an extension ;)
This is a great release! A little bit unstable in places and the widgets implementation still needs a lot of work, but it is really getting there!
9.0 Build 8348 PreBeta RC (Apr 6, 2006)
Getting better and more stable every week. Widgets are also getting better, and the available widgets are also getting more usefull.
@osric:
tools > preferences > advanced > security.
Use the dropdown menu and set it to 'once per session'. Also enable 'use as master password for e-mail and wand'.
9.0 Build 8321 Beta (Mar 25, 2006)
Seems to be getting better and better. Less and less issues on pages and getting more stable overall. The new widgets implementation needs some polishing, but has a lot of potential.
@trebor:
right-click the sidebar > customize > toolbars tab > style > choose 'images only'
9.0 Build 8321 Beta (Jun 8, 2009 - 11:47 AM)
misread the title, my bet.
9.0 Build 8321 Beta (Apr 9, 2008 - 6:03 AM)
I actualy am a teacher (children in the ages of 10 - 11) in the Netherlands and I do teach them how to safely use the internet (for the Dutch readers: http://www.iksurfveilig.nl/)
I can tell that it works, children often have no idea about the amount of information about them on the internet, I try to make them aware of that. I also think children need to be warned about the dangers of chat programs and social networking sites.
9.0 Build 8321 Beta (Nov 12, 2007 - 12:34 PM)
I've had the updates (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=941600 and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941649) installed for a couple of weeks now and those updates combined with a MUCH needed update for my intel 4965AGN wireless card (http://downloadcenter.in...%20version&lang=eng) made Vista rock solid. I haven't had any BOSD's since.
9.0 Build 8321 Beta (Oct 27, 2006 - 12:25 PM)
They stopped? Since when? Version Opera mobile 8.65 (great release btw) was released just two months ago and version 9 is in the works. I wouldn't call that stopped.
9.0 Build 8321 Beta (Oct 24, 2006 - 7:37 AM)
The admuncher extension works fine. Make sure you have the latest version from here: http://www.admuncher.com...erextensions/Ad_Muncher/
