  1. Comment - MS: It's Okay to Buy Vista OEM Software

    (Jan 30, 2007 - 12:33 AM)

Gosh! I should now throw away all those Windows 3.x,95,98,NT,ME,2000, and XP programs away and hunt and hunt for *linx programs (or Apple/Mac) to replace stuff that works -- even after 10+ upgrades?

Free is relative! If you bill-out at $200/hr, 4 hours searching for just the "right" program for "free" is NOT worth it... However, if you can spend 15 minutes ordering a known working program for $300. -- then your much better off.

p.s. I am not a Microsoft fan either.

"Since when ?" Right after you stuck your head in the sand.

If you follow their rules, and are an honest buyer/seller/user, you should never have a problem with eBay or PayPal. Then again, not everybody RsTFM.

MasterCard had offered this service for a long time (5+ years???). MasterCard = US Company.

The US maybe late coming out with something, but by golly, the US makes it better -- Except Windows OS.

So before you start country bashing, lets compare the number of patents issued each year by country.

180 Days? Who keeps Windows operating that long with out a reinstall? About 45 days is the longest I've ever gone.

No doubt there will be a hack/crack that is much more effective within a month or so...

  4. Comment - Six Patches Coming on Patch Tuesday

    (Dec 8, 2006 - 1:19 AM)

As of 12/7/2005 there are 62 HotFixes/Updates -- not including the hog IE-7.x or MP11... How about a SP3? No one in their right mind is going to move to Vista until 2008 or SP10.

Have the 'phone' companies lost their minds... What idiot would sit and stare at at 2 inch screen for an hour and a half? Oh! idiots who have more time (and money) than sense.
