  1. Review - Desktop Sidebar

    1.05 Beta Build 111 (Feb 21, 2006)

Personally I think these sidebars are awful and a waste of desktop space. I hope the one in Vista can be turned off.

  2. Review - Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows XP

    7.0 Beta 2 Preview (Jan 31, 2006)

Not a bad effort for a beta.

Is there a way to have the menu above the address bar rather than below? If not why not?

Also how do I change what loads when you open a new tab? Currently you get a blank screen

  3. Review - Go!Zilla

    3.91 (Sep 13, 2000)

3.5 is superior to Getright but 3.9* is just doesn't make the grade. Surely it wouldn't have killed them to put a few controls on the new interfaces??? For god's sake lose that stupid zipzilla!!! The only reason I'm giving this a 1 is because a lower grade isn't available.

  4. Comment - Microsoft to Drop PDF Support in Office

    3.91 (Jun 4, 2006 - 4:36 PM)

While I do most of my work in Office I use OpenOffice to save these documents as PDF files as and when required.

Office is grossly overpriced as it is (as is Adobe Acrobat). We certainly don't want to have to pay more for the save to pdf option.

Of course DOS wasn't a Microsoft creation. They bought it from somebody else.

Exactly what was in Windows 1 and 2?

I never say a windows based PC until version 3 had come out.

  7. Comment - Microsoft Delays Vista Until 2007

    3.91 (Mar 22, 2006 - 3:00 PM)

I am in no hurry for Vista as I'm happy with XP.

However I must that 6 million lines of code for an OS sounds crazy!

They should forget about all the unnesscary extras (eg movie maker, calendar, media player etc) they insist on bundling with the OS and concerntrate on the core OS itself.

That way the OS could be readied for release sooner and people can add the other stuff later if they want it.

  8. Comment - McDonalds to Embed Windows XP

    3.91 (Dec 7, 2005 - 5:50 PM)

I'll be darned if I can figure out how switching to windows will help them train employees faster!

Exactly how fast can you actually teach somebody to say "Do you want fries with that?" ?
