8.1.0.419 (Sep 2, 2007)
I have no idea how this one performs compared to the last. I'm installing it anyways as it's my only IM client. I write to note that I got the custom install option when I chose the install update found in the "help" tab. Of course, I deselect all the spy garbage.

Why in the hell is there a CAPTCHA window in this thing? Norton stopped being good when it released Windows versions. It really was good stuff in DOS.
SP2 1.2 Beta (May 19, 2006)
The *only* rights any "management service" should care about, on my computer using a legal copy of the OS, are MINE!
0.9.5 Beta (May 4, 2006)
Might be a cool idea, but still some wrinkles to work out. It couses a "WSAENOBUF" error in my Tor server, so I uninstalled it.
1.60 Beta (Dec 5, 2001)
I recently swapped out my Voodoo 5500 for a Radeon 8500. But when I used the Voodoo card, an earlier version of V.Control was indispensible! If ATI products are supported, I will get another copy.
1.60 Beta (Nov 6, 2009 - 9:00 PM)
I was unemployed during the Fall of 1983. For fun I wandered into a computer store and saw the Lisa. Having nothing else to do I began playing with it. The store employees didn't mind, especially when people gathered around while I was busy figuring out the drawing application. It was fascinating drawing the marqee box with an inscribed circle or oval moving inside. Then applying the plaid texture.
I feel guilty that I don't even fire up MS Draw, which can now do far more. We get spoiled so easily.
1.60 Beta (Oct 15, 2009 - 7:47 PM)
Regardless of who dropped the ball, "cloud" anything is a bad idea. What is a cloud? It's evaporated water that partially condensed in the sky. A cloud can completely dissipate or rain out.
Store your data locally and make backups.
1.60 Beta (May 22, 2009 - 3:57 AM)
What is this about a "Free Software Director"? All they have to do is release any code containing LGPL licensed components. Seems to be a means of future weaseling.
1.60 Beta (Mar 1, 2009 - 9:24 PM)
I bought my first PC in 1990 after poring over issues of Computer Shopper for 6 months. I can't think of a better compliment to give.
1.60 Beta (Dec 28, 2008 - 4:49 PM)
It's even worse than that. IBM is sniffing around to see how they can absorb browser functions into their amorphous and ill defined "Cloud", monetize it, then send backend and support off shore.
"Hey, my computer won't show me a website!"
