  1. Review - Adobe Media Player

    1.0 (Apr 9, 2008)

Small and easy enough to install. Runs fine but now they clearly need to work on providing some worthwhile content to view.

  2. Review - Comodo Memory Firewall

    2.0.4.20 (Mar 24, 2008)

Three stars because I have not tried it yet but need to give it some rating so this will post.

I found the following on the COMODO Forums but it was from an informed user and not from COMODO staff so ... but for what it is worth. Three stars because I have not tried it yet but need to give it some rating so this will post.
    --------------------
Comodo Firewall Pro and Comodo Memory Firewall do two different things. Comodo Firewall Pro offers outbound protection (version 3 also offers system protection), while Comodo Memory Firewall protects you from buffer overflows. Buffer overflows are commonly used for drive-by downloads (stealth download of malware).
So Comodo Memory Firewall will not replace Comodo Firewall Pro, and reverse.

  3. Review - eBay Desktop

    0.7.024 Beta (Nov 30, 2007)

I just installed this and like it a lot. I mostly browse and buy so the current inability to sell from this interface doesn't bother me ... and they plan to add selling capability at some point anyway.
This takes searching (Boolean) and refining the search to new levels and is it is incredibly easy to do. The interface is clean and it all makes perfect sense and is easy to use.

  4. Review - Logitech SetPoint (32-bit)

    4.00 (Jun 11, 2007)

Version 4 in WinXP SP2. After reading all the "disaster" posts on the Logitech forums, I decided I needed to try for myself. But first, because of all the problems others were having after Version 4 bombed, I did a full backup of my HD before testing 4.0.

I am glad I did. I needed it. Install went OK and the mouse worked ... but in the Logitech Setpoint control panel, the buttons could no longer be configured and like so many others, my expensive laser mouse (both cordless and corded) had become a basic $10 mouse with two buttons and no extras.

Logitech should immediately pull these drivers and fix them before re-release. There are just too many folks on their forums with serious problems that are unable to get back to an earlier stable version of Logitech drivers short of reinstalling their operating systems. OUCH!

  5. Review - Panda Anti-Rootkit

    1.06.00 (Apr 18, 2007)

    1.06

I unpacked the file, ran the exe and this Root-Kit detector scanned my system. It was pretty fast. No installation was needed.

For a more rigorous scan, you can have it set itself up to reboot and scan during the reboot.

Assuming it works ... it sure is easy and fast enough. And I like that no install is required and that this software can be ran from anywhere. Thanks BetaNews!

  6. Comment - Al Gore's TV Network Launches

    1.06.00 (Aug 1, 2005 - 8:39 PM)

I tried it ... lasted about five minutes and fell asleep, head smashed into the remote control and changed the channel.
    I WAS SAVED!
What a joke. Black guy telling how black prisoners were mistreated.
