  1. Comment - XP SP3 speed lead over Vista SP1 narrows under similar workloads

    (Nov 27, 2007 - 9:02 PM)

It says that the tests were done with "1 or 2GB" of RAM.

Well which is it? Personally I am only interested in the 2GB test as it would be silly to run Vista with anything less than 2GB. XP has a smaller memory footprint and can run well with less RAM.

  2. Comment - Top 10 New Features in Windows Server 2008

    (May 27, 2007 - 10:06 PM)

Did you see that the first release won't support live migrations?

Virtualization is on its way to being a commodity and as such MSFT has no choice but go go heavy into this market.

But as you point out, there's no way Viridian will be able to hold a candle to ESX within the next 2 years.

    Great article and detailed review.

My only complaint is that there's a pretty big feature that didn't make it into the top 10 -- a feature that has well over 100 partners and a growing technology segment -- Network Access Protection (NAP), which of course is Microsoft Netowrk Acess Control (NAC) solution.

  4. Comment - Judge Orders Halt to NSA Wiretapping

    (Aug 21, 2006 - 12:20 PM)

You completely missed the point. Liberal activists judges are ignoring the existing case law and turning the Constitution into a suidce pact by creating rulings based on their personal idealogies.

You are correct that legislation is the domain of Congress. And Congress can not pass any law take impedes the powers explicitly granted to the President in the Consitution -- such as FISA which the courts have repeated ruled that Congress via FISA can not place limits on the President's Article II powers to perform warantless searches for national security.

"Why does everyone forget that 9/11 happened AFTER the Republicans came to power?"

I can't beleive I'm actually going to respond to this ignorance. But what the heck I'm bored.

#1) The election of George W. Bush so infuriated Al-Queda that it imediuately spurred them into action. I'm sure it only took a few months to pass the flight training lessons and acquire the passports and organize all the logistics. It is an undisputed matter of public record that the planning for 9-11 began well before the election of Bush, and is further supported by documents captured in Pakistan.

    2) Terrorism did not exist before 9-11. The first World Trace Center bombing? oh, that was a little one so it really doesn't count. The USS Cole attack was executed by Osmama Bin Ladin while Clinton was still in office. Hmm...only 17 American soliders killed there so I guess that doesn't count either.

On this link is a list only 50 or so terrorist acts that took place prior to 9-11.
