I used to use MS Virtual Server 2005 R2 in the office, but its mgmt console only worked with IE (due to its activeX plugin). Then I moved to VMWare Server 2.0.1, which was more cross platform in terms of remote manageability as the mgmt console (running on top of Tomcat) could be accessed from other web browsers.
When I first tried VirtualBox 3.0 about a week back, I found it really easy, elegant and speedy to set up and use. It's full featured and the performance is really impressive. I'm now running 3.0.2 on both my Vista 32bit laptop and my Linux Mint7 64bit PC to host test OS environments.
6.8.0.2531 (Jul 13, 2008)
The 'free' version doesn't have all the touted features, e.g. MS-SQL backup.

3.0.22.349 (May 14, 2008)
I like the interface, but had to uninstall it from my XP Pro SP3 laptop as I kept getting BSODs (0x7F) when doing file transfers (copy or move).
Am still searching the web for a fix to this problem as I would love to continue using this app.
