  1. Review - XYplorer

    7.90.0120 (Feb 12, 2009)

I used this for a very short period. It is nice, but I don't like to use other file managers unless they have the ability to set themselves as default for opening any type of folder; rather than just a "open with" feature.

Because of this, xplorer 2 has been a better choice for me.

  2. Review - K-MeleonCCF ME

    0.09 RC2 (Dec 24, 2008)

Pkshadow, do you not realize this is extracted as a portable application? There is no uninstaller, you just delete the folder.

Secondly, I think this is a good edition. It works well, and has some of the features I miss in K-meleon. Great job to the developer(s).

  3. Review - Google Chrome for Windows

    0.2.149.27 Beta (Sep 2, 2008)

As is stands, it's a great browser. Fast, renders most webpages (IME) properly. When I say fast, I mean fast (faster than Opera). But it does hang sometimes on loading flash.

The touchpad scrolling on my laptop is a bit too sensitive. It will scroll almost an entire page with minimal touchpad movement.

As for plugins, I could care less as long as they include the essentials most browsers have (such as adblocking). I can understand the lack of plugin support, but firefox fanboys have to learn to backoff. There is a reason Firefox is the way it is, so if you like plugins STICK WITH IT! Stop ragging on Chrome because it's not a FF clone.

I will keep an eye on this one, but for now I will be using FF, Opera, and IE8 until Chrome gets some adblocking function!

  4. Comment - Google Chrome takes more than just inspiration from Mozilla

    0.2.149.27 Beta (Sep 2, 2008 - 9:30 PM)

I find this browser, as it is great so far. I've been reading comments on how featureless it is, missing no script, flash block, etc...

As much as I like Firefox, I can't stand some of the fanboys. Not everyone cares for those features, and they shouldn't rate this browser based on those criteria, rather on how good it is for what it stands.

All my bookmarks imported perfectly from FF, even betanews. The speed is incredible. The only thing I miss is adblock, which every browser has to some extent up to date.

But, it is fairly new, and I think it needs to grow a bit more.
