This program is alrite, but VNC in my eyes is a much better program and much thoroughly tested.
http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc
it's also free!. btw to that person who said use telnet. Yes telnet is nice enough when your playing around with your unix box (linux, bsd whatever you may choose) but tell me how am I going to telnet into my Windows 98/ME machine (yes I know Win2k has a telnet server built in). Also vnc support unix, so you can sit their on your unix machine controlling your windows machine or vice versa.

Problem with linux.
Linux is developed by thousands of kids all over the world that release hundreds of distributions. You cant push an OS with thousands of different variations into the mainstream, the thing with windows is that its stanard, its easy to say that 95+% of the desktop market is windows based. So anything developed for it, like games, office software will work without a hitch because they are all identical. Slight changes with gcc compiles or lib files can make binaries not work correctly ect.. WHEN LINUX DEVELOPS A STANARD thats when they will gain most of their popularity. As for me I am not a particularly large fan of linux at all , in fact is the GNU Unix OS that I like least of all, any true unix user realises that FreeBSD and *BSD in general are the way to go, there are only three branches and each one has its strengh not just a random collection of software and a kernel which is all that some Distributions are. As for windows, I would never in my wildest dreams run Windows machines as server not because of security issues, and the comment was right windows isnt insecure users just dont know how to secure them, they are secure but are not nearly as fast or can handle running processes as well as BSD can.
If this whole message doesnt make sense to you , then it's probably me since I just smoked a fat blunt :)))

Hey moron, ever heard of UNIX System V or so? thats what he's reffering too perhaps its easier to keep your big mouth shut sometimes rather then open it. As for his comment Bell Labs System V Unix is really expensive and isnt complete either. so there!

You know finally someone with a clue showed up on betanews. The sad truth is that all those linux fanatics are just a pain in the ass, trying to over throw the software world with there piece of s*** rhetoric of we will make a better OS a faster OS a cleaner coded OS and mostly an easier to use OS!, it seems to me like communists overthrowing the russian monarchy. And lets not forget what happened there, about a 100 years of oppression. The simple fact is until linux becomes a much better OS and by that I mean that it wont be absolutely dire to compile your kernel every few weeks or so with the latest ****ing bug you will find in it and believe me there's one discovered every second, and becomes a pleasure to install as well it being an OS even a 4th grader can use then linux will be just a GNU alternative for the truly bored and annoying. Dont get me wrong I use BSD for work related projects simply for the fact that they are much better then any MS os when it comes to being a SQL server or Web Server ect.. but at home I am proud to run my W2k SP2 , you know why? because I dont like to sit down with a pack of cigarettes and make menuconfig for hours at a time, I have better things to do with MY time.

Wow, you guys look at it in a very strange way, I cant stand some of the ANTI "M$" people on this site. You people dont like windows? then dont use it. No one is forcing it down your throat, there are tons of alternative Operating System. In the unices specifically, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, BeOS, linux and so on. The belieft is that MS is an evil company because they force people to use there products, no one forces anyone to do anything, it is just practical for MS to include IE in there Operating System, the internet is a tool used every day by many many windows owners, IE is included just for ease, so that people dont have to go online and find a browser and spend hours downloading it, MS never specifically told anyone not to download netscape... think of it this way, When I buy a Sony TV, the remote control package includes, Sony Batteries for it, do you think that Sony should be sued for a monoply since they dont provide panasonic or duracel batteries with there product?
Dont get me wrong I am not a die hard MS fan, I use and like many of there products, if I was ever unahppy with one of them I could always get a program with similar features from a different software company..
anyway not to get off base, the point is THAT MS has done nothing wrong by bundling their software with there operating system, in fact I think it has made it much easier for the end user which is what it all comes down too. And as for Netscape b****ing about the fact that IE is bundled with windows, I want to tell them to get their heads out of their a** and build a descent browser then I'll come back!
