  1. Review - PeaZip for Windows

    2.7 Beta (Aug 27, 2009)

Same old ugly interface... 7-zip can do almost everything PeaZip does and looks better (though not perfect).

  2. Review - Google Chrome for Windows

    3.0.182.2 Beta (May 29, 2009)

nice! chrome it's getting better and better... i like that the interface is really simple and it's really fast. i hope it will get an extension repository, 'cause i really need a google bookmarks extension :)

@stevelw: 2.0 was released as a full version. but probably you're using the weekly updated channel so you always have the development version.

@ain: there are some changes in the way that chrome displays fonts (family and size is now based on OS), so a lot of people experience small or big fonts, but i'm sure this will be fixed next week :)

  3. Review - Winamp 5 Full

    5.55 (Feb 27, 2009)

it's pretty outdated, but i still like it... it is not my primary audio player as i switched to songbird, which is developed by former winamp developers, but i like it because it's more stable then songbird and works well with foxytunes.

  6. Comment - Top 5 non-obvious feature enhancements to Office 2010

    3.2.1 (Jul 16, 2009 - 4:25 AM)

will the files saved in office 2010 be compatible with 2007? e.g. new animations and web video embedding in ppt will show up correctly? maybe an update to 2007 or compatibility pack as the one for 2003?

  7. Comment - Vista users greeted with an unexpected surprise: MobileMe

    3.2.1 (Jul 19, 2008 - 7:17 AM)

I am a developer and I installed Safari to check how web pages look in WebKit browsers. With Safari was also installed Apple Software Update which was asking me all the time to install QuickTime and iTunes too. If was a normal computer user, I would have accepted and thus with iTunes I would have had MobileMe too. Pretty annoying... Apple is using the same tactics that MS used and it is no better.

  8. Comment - Stolen PCs spur ID theft worries at Stanford, U. of SC, AT&T

    3.2.1 (Jun 9, 2008 - 1:07 PM)

i think this is the 1000th stolen laptop i heard about... incidents like this happen because people don't take security measures... why do they store private information on laptops? haven't they heard about dedicated servers for that?? or something like a desktop PC that you keep only at the office?? all the firewalls and protection programs are useless if people don't care about security...
