  1. Review - Quicksys RegDefrag

    1.2 (May 19, 2008)

This is the reg defrag I've been waiting for! And Version 1.2 does offer backup and restore options. It reminds me of the reg defrag that comes with PCTools' Registry Mechanic, which is really the best part of that program.

This plus Reg Vac does the job. So far no problems. Granular, graphic analysis before defrag. NTREGOPT and Reg Vac do not offer this.

This is nice software. Really Nice! And Free!

  2. Review - BitComet

    Build 20080130 Beta (Jan 30, 2008)

I had this on my machine only for as long as it took to get it back off. This download contained the biggest bombardment of unasked for crapware I've seen in a long time.

  3. Review - Comodo Firewall Pro

    3.0.15.277 (Jan 11, 2008)

Not being a computer expert I can't get too excited about this thing, but it seems to work alright, except Pending Files is kind of a pain, but as I said, it does seem to work fine, and it is free, and it doesn't nag me like ZAFree used to.

If I could have given it a 4.59 I would have.

  4. Review - Media Player Classic for Windows 2000/XP

    6.4.9.1 Beta 20080104 (Jan 4, 2008)

Secunia PSI claims this product is EOL. I used to keep this on my system, but until this EOL issue is resolved I'll have to leave it alone.

  5. Comment - Harris: Two-Thirds Will Say No to Vista

    6.4.9.1 Beta 20080104 (Apr 8, 2007 - 5:16 PM)

Having clunked around with Windows XP for the past three and a half years, then upgrading to XP Pro, I now see no reason to "upgrade" to Windows Vista, and besides, there is plenty of free or at least consumer friendly software available for prettying up XP and XP Pro.

XP Pro and I have become as one.
