3.0 Build #495 Alpha (Feb 9, 2003)
After using this for 5 minutes i would like to rethink my opinion a bit, i no longer recomend this even for shoutcast streams like i said below, i also found a bug where delete would not remove a file from my playlist, a bug i ha don an earlier beta before final was released. The speed is ok on my system but this is just too buggy for a end user so i reccomend newbies stick with 2.81 if you insist on using winamp....GET FOOBAR2000 and dont look back!!!!!!!Shoutcast listeners i have tested a lot of players and for overall sound quality i still reccomend mmatch since this is still buggy and wa2 sound sucks.
3.1.1 (Jan 17, 2003)
Good for what it is but i recommend ICEOWS, it handles pretty much every type of archive and uses an explorer interface.
2003a Beta Build #3799 (Jan 17, 2003)
ICQ used to be my favorite messaging client back in the good old days, but what the hell did aol do to this thing, i am appauled and ashamed that a company could take such a good product and smack it down to the point that its worse than aol instant messenger. This is bloated ad filled (yes i know there are programs to remove this before you fanboys say anything, but thats besides the point). ICQ needs a complete overhaul (or underhaul...idk). I forsee the death of this especially since aim now communicates with the ICQ network. If your looking for a quality instant messenger try something like trillian or gaim, or take the plunge to open source and freedom fomr conglomerate networks and download a jabber client such as PSI. Jabber is the way of the future, not ICQ or aim or any of them...why deal with giant networks that can go down in a second thereby shutting everone off when you can send messages like you would send email to anyone no matter which medium they may use, so in all actuallity there is not really much to say for any of the instant messengers that do not at least support jabber (hurry up trillian!) and gaim doesnt have enough jabber features as psi does.
2003a Beta Build #3799 (Feb 15, 2003 - 5:43 PM)
I just reformated my windows xp pc and now im forced to use stupid lame slow a** sun java. I am seriously angered at thism i need to go find a VM installer file somewhere because yahoo chat and a few other things require it. Sun sucks, even worse than M$ and AOHell.

Piracy can never be stopped, when they take steps to enforce it, someone e;se takes steps to slip around the barriers.
2003a Beta Build #3799 (Jan 23, 2003 - 1:58 AM)
Thats what they get for using aol, the company responsible for such things as the destruction of winamp and the spanking of netscape, the sadistic disturbing murder of icq (damn you mirabalis for selling!!!!, the crap software aim...and the introduction of the internet to people who's sister is also their mother and uncle. Oh yea and that freaking "Youve got mail!!!" sound. It pains me that mozilla recieves financial support from AOL, since any affiliation with them eventually means destruction (ie. declining profits of time warner) maybe thats why apple chose not to go with a mozilla based app as its bundled browser. AOL will destroy everything if it is not stopped...and the security sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I miss ICQ :(
2003a Beta Build #3799 (Jan 23, 2003 - 1:47 AM)
Im no M$ sympathizer but i dont see why they should have to include poorly written slow software with windows, i have used many versions of Sun Java and all i have seen with every version is more sluggishness. The 1.4.1_01 version of java grinds IE6 to a freaking hault and sucks equally on Mozilla 1.2.1 it has caused me to have to ctrl alt delete frequently because i dont feel like waiting for it to load but suprise when i disable it and enable Microsoft Virtual machine...No problem. Now i dont know if this is a microsoft issue or a Sun issue, and frankly i dont care because when im using Windows i want my Microsoft and when im on my freebsd machine i want my non ms software. I hope that MS can figure out some sort of strategy to take back controll of windows in this (supossed) free country so that i can have a faster, cleaner more efficient computing experience when using windows. In closing Sun Java Sucks a hairy bikers a$$....And anything AOL also sucks (just thought id throw that in. I still will never understand how ms was declared a monopoly when their are so many other OS's (and yes i know all about their supossed forcing of companies to use windows and whatnot so dont even respond with that crap because i call that intellignet business strategy not monopolization. MS may be evil but so is chocolate....
