2.0 Build 410 Beta (Mar 13, 2008)
Been using this on my XP notebook for about 6 months. Great app, according to Speedfan, my core temp's are 21 degrees Celsius, HD temp 28C. These figures speak for themselves. This machine
runs very cool, even when viewing AVI's, obviously it's going to reduce wear & tear on the HD.
Machine had Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 & GFX are on board Intel GMA X3100, nothing special.
5.3.1.9 (Nov 23, 2007)
I gotta say, started using this way back when. I think the version then was about 2.4.1, and yep it was cracked. Liked it so much I purchased it (as I do), I have both versions legit for about 3 years, and quite frankly I'm extremely annoyed/dissapointed at having to pay AUD20+ for the pro update, and AUD17+ annually for the standard update.
Have registered my disappointment with their sales people, however their response is as it should be "this is the best", pay for it or suffer.
Conversely, at the same time I purchased DVDFab, which at that time was junk, however this simple purhase back then has provided lifetime updates to what is now an extraordinary app.
3.0.551 (Nov 3, 2007)
gnovak1,
You're kidding are you not, perhaps you might like to edit your post there a far too many contradictions, if you're serious of course.
This is yet another extraordinary app from the creators' of NOD32.
Wonderful stuff indeed, keep up the fine work, and ignore nonsensical comments.
3.0.9.229 Beta (Sep 29, 2007)
Been using this on an XP maachine for several weeks, and am delighted with it.
BTW, AlphaRoman, thanks for the heads up re Vista will install it on my Vista mule machine tonight.
2.2.1 Beta (Jul 4, 2007)
In a word, Junk. Authors' refuse to believe there could be any problems with this app.
And, will not provide refunds, I wasted AUD53 on this garbage.
Don't waste your money.
2.2.1 Beta (Jan 9, 2009 - 8:48 PM)
Indeed they do, been using x64 since Tuesday, through my MSDN subscription, on a Dell XPS M1530, and a patch was a recommended download last night.
Must say this is what Vista should have been, it is certainly snappy. More importantly I keep my machines locked down as tight as you can without compromising performance, and all the services I would normally disable are already set to manual. As an aside this machine has an nVidia 8600 GPU which is still running a little hotter than I would like @55c, but first install a recommended download was for the new nVidia drivers also in beta.
Have installed all my usual apps and the only one that would not take on first run was Roxio, however the OS actually did a compatibility Q&A, and when selected the option in ran ok in Vista, well about a minute and a reboot it's working fine.
At first blush I have to say this is a grand OS.
Have just installed x86 version on this machine (the version referred to above was x64), this rig being an HP Compaq 6710b. This is my utilitarian machine, came standard with 4gb memory, only on board Intel GFX, but it came with XP Pro installed, and Vista Business disks.
Anyway, clean install took 7.49 minutes from start of file loading to a fully functioning OS, during install recognised chipset being Intel 965 and adjusted screen resolution accordingly, upon completion there were only 3 recommended downloads, being touchpad, credential manager (don't use it anyway), and Broadcom ethernet driver update.
What is most curious is that this is running quicker that the highly spec'd Dell, yet its performance rating is only 3.5 against 5.4. The only mod to this rig is a WD 7200 250gb Black Scorpion with 16mb cache.
And to think I was about to lease a Sony 13.3" with Vista SP1 to replace my cake cutter. I'm going to wait and get a travelling machine with this installed.
Have found a couple of issues, a number of websites indeed that of my ISP does not recognise IE8, Perfect Disk will not run, however, the freebie from Iobit does, and the same issue with Roxio remains.
I am mightily impressed!!!
2.2.1 Beta (Nov 11, 2008 - 2:46 AM)
My 6.5y/o Brother MFC-4800 installed and runs a treat using XP Pro x64 bit driver on my Vista x64 installation (found the tip on the Brother Forum).
2.2.1 Beta (Oct 11, 2008 - 9:37 AM)
Vista x64 is a treat, 32 bit is junk!
As an aside, love my cake cutter, and running Vista x64 Business on the bootcamp partition, works very well indeed.
Got to give Apple credit for the quality of their driver disk, in that those not already included in the aforementioned Vista, were covered in theirs, saved much time & grief.
Running several notebooks, 2 with XP Pro, one of which came with Vista as a downgrade option.
The others that came with Vista preinstalled (one of which is a Dell XPS M1530), have since purchased academic upgrade disks & then paid the price of postage (AUD16.40) for x64 disks from MSFT.
As far as the MBA goes, I look upon it as training wheels (hey Taxman subsidises it).
2.2.1 Beta (Aug 29, 2008 - 12:37 PM)
