  1. Review - save2pc

    3.14 (Nov 19, 2007)

Good program that does what it says!

  2. Review - Easy CD-DA Extractor

    10.0.6 (Mar 27, 2007)

Excellent software, well worth the price.

  3. Review - Advanced LAN Scanner

    1.0 Beta 1 (Mar 8, 2007)

I was hunting for a free program to find out what IP addresses were in use on my LAN and what their NetBIOS names were, and this program did all that and more, even telling me what ports were open and closed on each computer. While it may not have a ton of functionality, it does what it says very well and is very easy to use. And did I mention it's free? I'm very impressed.

  4. Review - AnyDVD HD

    6.1.2.3 (Feb 18, 2007)

I've had AnyDVD for over four years and NEVER had a problem with it. SlySoft updates it about once a month, and it just does what it says. Pay once and free updates for life.

  5. Review - CloneCD

    5.3.0.2 Beta (Jan 16, 2007)

I've used CloneCD for about four years, and it works flawlessly. I paid for it once and every update since has been free. It allows me to make backup copies of my game and other CDs, and it's "Hide CD-R" feature allows me to play games using a burned CD (so my kids and I can play the same game without having to pass around the original and get it scratched up). It's an easy "5" rating.

  6. Comment - French police bid adieu to Microsoft software

    5.3.0.2 Beta (Jan 31, 2008 - 1:17 AM)

Has anyone considered that the French government might possibly be concerned that MS has back-doors programmed into their OSes for use by the NSA? One way to eliminate that possibility would be open source.

  7. Comment - WTO Calls US Online Gambling Ban 'Illegal'

    5.3.0.2 Beta (Mar 30, 2007 - 10:49 PM)

Folks, this is really very simple: The very large U.S. casinos were missing out on billions of dollars worth of gambling to the competition from on-line companies, so they made lots and lots of campaign donations to Congress to get Congress to remove their competition. That's how U.S. politics works. Congress will overturn the ban on Visa payments to off-shore, on-line gambling sites when the U.S. casinos are also in that business, and not before.
