5.05 (Dec 11, 2008)
This version may work. I installed both 32 & 64 bit on Vista 64 and mp4 plays OK in Media Player. Early release 5 update broke it.
4.70 (Dec 10, 2008)
It's big because it not only covers all their mice but it covers all the keyboards as well. Works great for me, 510 keyboard and G5 mouse. No different than the way Microsoft works. Good job Logitech.
1.5.7 (Dec 3, 2008)
I tried all the new versions, 32 and 64 bit, I install both. The updates killed my mp4 playback in Media Player. I'm running Vista 64. Anyway, I went back to earlier versions, 465 and 145 and all works well again. Anybody else had this problem?
3.0.0.44 (Jul 31, 2008)
I installed it and immediately uninstalled it. There in lies the problem, it leaves it's footprint everywhere. Run regedit and search for icall. Manually removal of leftovers from Windows Folder required.
If you do try it be sure to create a restore point first.
11.0 Beta 2 (Jul 24, 2008)
I have used PA since 2002 and have never gone back. Every update has been free, no charge for all these years and it remains so. It is a deal as a lot of work goes into development.
I do not see any bloatware, it is fast and works great as usual. I personally like the new interface but that is my choice. All the context menus interdace perfectly with Vista 64 and Speed Commander 64.
As far as 2009 Pro goes you do not have to use it, that is your choice, go with the Standard version. I find the added features in Pro make it quick and convenient to deal with saving or burning files to disk, and yes I still have a million other ways to burn a CD. Like I said your choice, for 6.99 USD it was worth it to me and it gave a little more support to the developer.
Support: If you ever need their support it is great. They respond immediately and are open to suggestions. Well worth the original $19.95.
11.0 Beta 2 (Jul 28, 2007 - 11:25 PM)
It has been debunked, Sony once again dumped a bunch of BS. HD will continue to be sold at Target.
11.0 Beta 2 (Jun 17, 2006 - 10:34 PM)
I have been using XP64 with great success. I have tried both versons of Vista, 32 & 64 bit, and have to take a wait and see position. Right at the moment I don't think the developer support is there.
This is my experience with Vista Beta 2. All installs were clean on a separtate hard drive.
Intellipoint 5.5, failed to install on 32 bit would work on 64 bit.
Creative X-Fi drivers, installed on 32 bit but not on 64 bit. (drivers are beta and still rough) Realtek onboard sound drivers work.
Raxco Perfect Disk 7.0, fails to install on 32 or 64. Version 8 will be out the first of the year.
Acronis True Image 9.1, installed on 32 but not 64.
Zip Utilities, Quick Zip worked the best, many others failed.
One of my favorite file mangers, Drag & File, was marginally stable on 64bit
Nvidia Beta Video drivers worked but also are still rough on the edges.
The Nvidia NF4 chipset drivers have no install other that using the .inf files. I think Vista natively covers some of this.
Printr /Scanner drivers, I only used the built in HP 4 Plus drivers in Vista, which worked OK. I use a Canon 8400F Scanner and an Epson 200 in XP64, should have tried them but I gave up at this point.
Overall Vista is pretty, it seems a little slower than XP, either version. (probably related to drivers) Maybe after the first of the year.
11.0 Beta 2 (Feb 18, 2006 - 7:54 PM)
I installed the version for XP64 (three times) and also found it would not update, it left the little exclamation mark on the tray icon and left the warning that my definitions were more than 20 days old when the program was opened.
I also liked the extra tools for cleanup that version 1 had, now removed. Like the Ole, Ball Game, three strikes and your out, but then that's why it is BETA.
