    To God Dammit:

    Hynix, Micron, Samsung, and Nanya, are all manufacturers of SDRAM (and DDR, etc) according to JEDEC standards. Hynix has been found to infringe Rambus patents by a federal jury (37-0 in favor of Rambus) and has (yet) to pay $133 million as a result of infringement.

    The manufacturers have also been found by the Department of Justice that they were guilty of price fixing and quite a number of executives went to jail as well as paying hundreds of millions in fine.

    In March, 2008, another federal jury found that Rambus legally acquired monopoly because of their superior technology (that was infringed by the manufacturers).
