Symantec Endpoint Manager warns about IEDefender in 404Fix.exe at C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 3 Beta 4\SmitfraudFix\

  2. Review - Cobian Backup

    9.1.1.193 (Nov 4, 2008)

TC17, when you go to create a task, there's an option right on the General tab that says:
"Create separated backups using timestamps" right below "Include subdirectories".

  3. Review - Opera for Windows

    9.50 Build 9681 Beta (Nov 30, 2007)

When I upgraded, it wiped out the History and Sessions. Annoying. Now I'm less likely to upgrade.

Edit: Diam0nd seems to be clueless about the point of a review.

  4. Review - BOINC for Windows

    5.10.21 (Development) (Oct 3, 2007)

A pity when people rate a product they don't comprehend. Point Zero seems to have zero comprehension. Distributed computing helps take some difficult tasks and make them possible within our lifetimes.

BOINC needs a better UI. Being able to change prefs for a project within the UI, getting more info about a project when trying to add a new project, getting a better idea of what projects are available, etc.

  5. Review - BOINC for Windows

    5.10.19 (Development) (Aug 22, 2007)

Don't blame BOINC because you can't get your SETI alone, CharlieGimbert . Don't be a retard. Complain to the SETI@home people.

  6. Comment - The battle ahead: Google Chrome OS vs. Microsoft 'Windows 8'

    5.10.19 (Development) (Jul 9, 2009 - 6:31 PM)

Depends who you ask. Some have accused BetaNews of being a Microsoft shrill, usually one of the trolls.

  7. Comment - Report: Evidence of further creativity with Windows 7 upgrade prices

    5.10.19 (Development) (Jul 8, 2009 - 9:11 PM)

"at a price point at or around $37."

Don't you mean $137 instead of $37? Look at the price in the picture.

  8. Comment - Not just Vista: The operating system is dying, too

    5.10.19 (Development) (Jul 8, 2009 - 1:13 AM)

If you play Age of Empires, you can use a code that will use catapults to either launch cows or to launch peasants. Will that be close enough?

  9. Comment - Not just Vista: The operating system is dying, too

    5.10.19 (Development) (Jul 8, 2009 - 1:06 AM)

@ bopb99: Is it so hard to properly quote someone? You start off with a " and end with a " and it makes reading much easier.

  10. Comment - Symantec goes live with Norton 2010 betas

    5.10.19 (Development) (Jul 7, 2009 - 9:04 PM)

I thought the decline started with Norton Utilities 3. And Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager has at least one stupid configuration option (why have an option to make shares available if one needs to put in the rules for it anyways?), as well a management console that you're better off not installing. It also only partially supports x64 servers.
