  1. Review - Time Zone Calculator

    1.0 Beta (Aug 14, 2008)

Does what it says, but I think it would have been better, if this reads the system time and region from the system.

I would give 4 for not doing that.

  2. Review - iTunes for Windows

    7.1.1.5 (May 2, 2007)

It defies at least my logic why Apple wants to stick to Windows 2000 and XP and no support for Vista.
Till there is a support for Vista ( most of the Windows computer you buy today in market is coming any way with Vista) there should only be a 1 ( there is no 0 rating possible :( )

  3. Review - Microsoft Windows Search for Windows XP / Server 2003

    3.0 (Oct 25, 2006)

High Memory Usage ? No personal attack but I don't think I see any high memory usage at all as Floodland is pointing out and I am using it from the Beta2 days. Precisely, this is one of the lowest memory usage Desktop search system and incase you are beta testing Office 2007 at the moment, it works like a beauty, fully integrated .

  4. Review - Slim Browser

    4.07.004 Beta (May 30, 2006)

I would say its a nice IE based engine. I do agree with the others regarding some goods and some bads. The bads seems to be something that almost everyone pointed out already.

and talking about rating, people rate a product for what it is and not something like giving it a 2 star saying " It used IE engine and so you get viruses" . That definite stupid of anyone. I for one use both IE and Firefox and have never got any virus because of IE. You have to be really dumb and ignorant about how computers work to get virus from IE.

  5. Review - Microsoft Expression Web

    12.0.4017.1003 Technology Preview 1 (May 16, 2006)

The archive seems not to be proper and hence installation fails ( or should I say does not start.) Doesn't seem like Microsoft is even reading this thread as there is no update on this yet.

  6. Comment - Microsoft misses a perfect opportunity for Windows 7 and multitouch

    12.0.4017.1003 Technology Preview 1 (Oct 23, 2009 - 2:09 PM)

Actually there are multiple applications of multitouch on windows 7 specifically in the industrial application of which I have seen demos working on Windows 7 beta OS . Belieive me it does save time and increase productivity from the position I am looking at . I do agree with Scott here that MS has definitely missed a big window here which they may never again get back.

  7. Comment - Google Sync brings push Gmail to iPhone, WinMobile, S60

    12.0.4017.1003 Technology Preview 1 (Sep 23, 2009 - 1:32 AM)

really ? for me it is almost instant and definitely much faster than fetch. The fastest you can do on fetch is 15 minutes interval on iPhone while with push i am getting it instantly max 5 -10 sec

  8. Comment - Microsoft laughs off Apple legal request to kill TV ads

    12.0.4017.1003 Technology Preview 1 (Jul 17, 2009 - 10:38 AM)

Well the theory that Macs cannot get viruses /spywares/malwares is actually a myth. If not there would not have been antiviruses for Macs in the market. including Macafee and Symantec. Yes they are less because % of Windows users far outnumber % of Mac users .

  9. Comment - In the Palm of iTunes' Hand: Why won't Apple play nice?

    12.0.4017.1003 Technology Preview 1 (Jul 17, 2009 - 10:31 AM)

Honestly I would not have itunes on my computer if not for iPod/iPhone. There is not one feature in iTunes that I would make it my default media player. There is no real alternative to iTunes for Apple devices. Ofcourse for Palm though there is so why should there be a problem.

From my point of view if any one looses here it would be apple loosing on posible revenues from the Palm users .

  10. Comment - Congress: Should cell phone exclusivity contracts be illegal?

    12.0.4017.1003 Technology Preview 1 (Jun 25, 2009 - 2:38 AM)

Actually though I agree with you on most part the idea that "too big to fail" companies can never fail is probably slowly fading awy. I agree US has probably not seen such a thing but Europe is already seeing this and the trend is a bad one. Probably one of the biggest examples are branches of Siemens like siemens Communications, semiconductors . They are all dead or look at the wireline market, the once big is dead.

Exclusivity in a way hurts competition a lot I would probably agree with Sen. John Kerry on this point. Price is only a very small part of the bigger picture. Taking example of iPhone itself (not saying that it is a bad phone), wouldn't you agree iPhone could have seen much better innovations/featuresets if it did not enjoy the exclusivity?
