0.1.12 Beta (Apr 26, 2005)
cooldude7273, I think you just proved to us all how cool you are. If you had read the article, you would have seen that they did not include the adaware with the beta, and they won't include it.
"Dropping a much-maligned practice, third party add-ons such as WeatherBug will not be bundled with the new AIM client."
I like where AIM is going with this honestly, and I'm not afraid to admit it. I know their are those of you who hate AIM, but it seems as if they are making an honest approach to make AIM better. I have been using AIM ever since version 4.8, which has probably been 3 or 4 years ago, and so far it has basically been just feature updates, but now they are finally dishing us out a new user interface. The program never crashed on my computer like it did on other computers, but I would notice it would lock up when you first sign on, for about the first two minutes, but after that everything went pretty smoothly.
This has been one of the most anticipated beta releases for me in the past year or so, so I am excited to see all of the old features be programmed into this and be used with all of the new features
EDIT:
Sorry, I misread the comment below, i thought it said "ad-aware" not adware
4.7.0 Beta 60 (Jan 29, 2005)
I don't have the new beta, but for all of you that say bearshare comes with spyware...they have a lite version that bearshare themselves makes.
http://www.bearshare.com/lite
that is what I have been using and it works fine for me and get this....NO SPYWARE OR ADWARE. so stop complaining.
4.7.0 Beta 60 (Nov 18, 2005 - 11:18 AM)
Read the article, the very last line
"While the low-cost device will be offered to governments and educational institutions, a $200 commercial version is also being planned where the profits would help support the non-commercial side of the project."
This IS going to be available to the general public.
This isn't dead news, this is exactly what Betanews is here for; it is a technological breakthrough for third-world countries and I believe it is more news worthy than following the Europeans trying to sue Microsoft for everything they are worth.
You obviously don't know the principles of charity and humanity.
4.7.0 Beta 60 (Aug 12, 2005 - 12:21 AM)
You've never used the Microsoft Intellimouse? One of the best mouses ever, I have had mine for 3+ years now and it hasn't let me down.
4.7.0 Beta 60 (Aug 9, 2005 - 10:06 PM)
It is the ease of use, and people pretty much got started on the internet using either AOL or Prodigy.
4.7.0 Beta 60 (Aug 7, 2005 - 1:43 PM)
I'm outside playing on my computer.
Three cheers for Wi-Fi!
