  1. Review - Ubuntu

8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) Release Candidate (Oct 24, 2008)

I've been running it now since Alpha4 and the Network Manager being able to keep WPA keys for me is wonderful addition that I also appreciate. Running the 64bit version, everything on my Laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad T60) works like a charm. Also printer setup is getting even better with this version as well. Only downfall is OpenOffice 3.0 didn't make it into this version, it won't make it till 9.04 it looks like unless installed separately. Aside from that loving it.

  2. Review - AVG Anti-Virus Free

    7.1.392a744 (May 3, 2006)

This program is great. Doesn't negatively impact my system performance like Norton did, been using it for years now. No infections on my system. I'm happy with it and regularly recommend it to others.

As for jan.kachlik's review, do you have anything to backup your poor review?

  3. Review - J. River Media Center

    11.1.75 Beta (Dec 9, 2005)

    J. River Media Center has been my preferred player since version 8. I used to use MusicMatch Jukebox but find for my 3000+ songs, 50+ movies and numerous pictures that this program offers much better organization and access. Sure there are features in it I'll probably never use, but I like knowing the power is there. Also, I love it's integrated burning abilities, being able to chose regular or data cd and have files converted to my chosen format is great. For me the $25 is worth it. Show me another program that can handle audio, video, and pictures with such a database style access and perhaps my opinion will change. Till then this is definately my favorite.

  4. Review - Unofficial Windows 98 SE Service Pack

    2.0.2 (Aug 1, 2005)

This is a phenomenal update and comes as a blessing to all those that still use the fully functional Windows 98 SE operating system. I have used applied it to numerous customer machines that are still running that OS and have always had a positive outcome. As for Roj's comment...if you aren't using this update then you have no right to give it a review of "1." Your opinion of Windows 98 SE as an operating system for use doesn't belong in a review of an update.

  5. Review - ICQ Pro

    2000a Alpha v4.22 Build #3086 (Feb 10, 2000)

As far as downloading ICQ2000 Alpha, the link works just fine. I downloaded with no problems at all usinge a measly 33.6 modem. Have yet to use it though.

  6. Comment - Google Labs bundles apps into Gmail

    2000a Alpha v4.22 Build #3086 (Oct 28, 2008 - 7:43 PM)

I have been wanting Google Calender and Google Docs integrated for some time. Happy to see it finally happening. Having to always open another window to glance at upcoming events was a bother.

  7. Comment - Exploit Code Out for Patched MS Flaws

    2000a Alpha v4.22 Build #3086 (Jun 16, 2006 - 1:52 AM)

I could be wrong on the date but I believe it was back on 4/19/06 that Microsoft pushed an update out as a Critical Security update for some Dell Systems for their Video Driver... this Driver made those Dell's not boot into Windows XP anymore... the fix for it was to uninstall the driver in safe mode, return to Windows Update site manually and tell that update to never attempt to install... I'm sure there have been other issues with updates as well. That is just one I personally had to deal with for a customer. Also I provide some support services for a Hospital... some updates can break the special software they use... hence default policy is not to automatically install updates as they must be tested against their special programs first...
