the proprietary issue is a complete non-issue, just select the type of CD/DVD image you want (iso) at rip time... so I dont get that complaint.. they are definitely not trying to tie you into anything, the daa is nice if you want on the fly compression, if you don't want to use it, no problem , one click at rip time... jeez
this program is great:
- gets continuous updates
- works in win7 since pre beta 1, nobody else did
- worked in vista from beta 1.. nobody else did
- works in 64 and 32 with same install, I had tons of problems with other ISO apps
- is very small / resource light, but powerful
- has an easy to use, intuitive interface
- doesn't use an add on for virtualization, or need a plugin for anything in basic use
- I've never had a single problem with it
I used ultraISO, daemon, just about all the ones mentioned here and elsewhere.. the closest one is UltraISO, but PowerISO wins by a nose because Ive had some UltraISO problems in the past... you notice none of the bad mouth reviewers here said anything about PowerISO breaking, right? that's cause it doesn't ever that I've ever seen
