  1. Comment - Nearly 7 years after original, a new Windows XP goes gold

    (Jul 25, 2008 - 9:47 PM)

i think microsoft is just trying to branch out yet again into territory they dont understand and dont belong in. how is a brazillian whos never used a computer before supposed to know what to do when he/she gets a blue screen, or a virtual memory error, or gods forbid, windows wants to update?
as to the whole more rugged than consumer pc's... the hard drive doesnt have to move for windows to fail. all it takes is windows deciding that it is tired and needs to take a nap.

sounds to me like someone a)trying to get their name in the news, b) who's a fan(IE employee or paid contractor) of MS, or c) who created the requisite " Social Interaction" required for this exploit to get their MS loving @r$es in the news..... and yes Niro, i would call MS incompetent if they had a flaw on release day.... same as i do every day....

  4. Comment - Parsing Bill Gates: Is he saying Microsoft wants to be left alone?

to get back to the why we hate vista topic heres my little list.

i custom build computers for people.... vista is a pain in the a** to make sure every little piece of hardware will work with it.

you gotta have good ram and video to make it run decent, and updates have so far been a nightmare.

aside from that, does anyone remember the hell that was windows XP at launch? or Win ME for that matter?

Vista isnt the best or worst microsoft has ever given us. i prefer Xp only because i know it works, its been around for 7 years. for the most part the bugs are all squished and, for a microsoft product, its reliable.

if people werent scared of change, linux would rule the world.

theres my two cents, try not to spend it all at once on gas.
