   Review - Google Chrome for Windows

   I was expecting more from google, all i got is a fancy browser with fancy tab effects, without even a descent side bar for displaying bookmarks at all time. Not mentioning the data reporting thing. It is not portable either (although there is an unofficial portable version: Iron). All in one, google has adopted the Microsoft approach: makes a product that pleases the masses, not bothering making it good.
   
   Even if i grow bored of Firefox because each release is more bloated than the previous one, I wont change for somethign worse.

   slick, simple, PORTABLE, FREE and does the job very well. I am no expert when it comes to remote desktop application, and I have craved for a simple-to-use-yet-functional software for doing so, and i think I just found it. Now i can help granny to sort out her computer!! cool

   Review - Spider

   well a 5 partially because it pisses me off to see people writing "good but does not have this or this and I would like to see this bla bla". This player may not have all the features of all the music player altogether, but it has many that other don't. To start with it is portable, and i wish more developers would make their apps portable. It is a prehistoric approach to coding to write all over C and in the registry.
   
   Apart from this, the player is nicely thought, and nicely implemented. You don't like the default skin, choose the second on installed. At least the developer had the taste of putting two skins with different graphic feel to them. you dont like the color, change the hue setting and you get any color you want. Then the radio feature works flawlessly. Favorite is simple but very usable. Format conversion and CD ripping is nice in the pro version (you can rip to flac). it displays audio quality where it should be: in the main GUI, it has a ten band equalizer etc etc. I didn't even start using all the features of this player yet.
   
   What I would like to see (or to know how to do) is to be able to display track data in the playlist (like album, kbps, etc).

   Review - OpenOffice.org Portable

   Let me be clear. I am rating the software, and not the fact that it is free (otherwise, please add one star!)
   
   was very competitive prior to office 2007 (and believe me, i really wasn't a Microsoft office fan). Now it looks like an old-looking out-of-time software again. Despite a high level of functionality, accessibility and usability are poor in my opinion.
   
   Too bad they didn't use the jump to V3 to release a really new product.

   Review - Mozilla Firefox Portable Edition

   3.0.1 (Jul 22, 2008)

   very good browser, having a portable version is priceless. Tones of useful add on obviously. People complaining about memory are certainly the same who don't raise an eyebrow when their windows installation sucks up 600 meg on boot up (no mentioning Vista with its 900meg+ memory usage at boot up)
   
   However, since version 3, Firefox crashes when viewing VRML models using the Cortona plug in (the most used VRML plug on the market). Bug has been mentioned by some since beta version and still nothing is done.
