Beta (Oct 15, 2004)
I am a huge Google fan for searching almost anything on the web and happy that they have ventured into the desktop search. But although good there is another very good alternative.
Check out Copernic Destkop Search (also FREE!). I use Copernic Pro 6.0 for some intense web search but this destop version is awesome for searching emails, files, Office Documents, PDF files (one reviewer says this lacks in Google) & much more. It also incorperates very well with Copernic Meta (free) which is a very nice search engine but it has some amazing add on search links even searching from Google.
I know this is a beta release from Google but Copernic Desktop Search includes extras that even Google should have included in it's beta version. I hope to see some of these in the next version.
I do hope to see the inclusion of searching Firefox/Mozilla items, something that is lacking in both programs.
I am interested in seeing comments from anybody that tries the Copernic Desktop Search.
1.90 (Jun 25, 2004)
One of the best download managers around. I have tried many free or paid (the paid apps had many things I never used and not very user friendly.
I was wondering however when the good times would end & it would be offered as a pay app, so it came to know suprise when I saw this. If anyone kept track on creator's site he has been going through some difficulties.
I am glad though that in a sense NTprt is still is a free app and you only have to pay for the minor enhancements if you ever use them which I am sure most of us do not. So I still give it a high rating and glad that this app is still around and hopefully will continue to be.

Great program & the best freeware app of this type by far I have used.
