   You forgot to mention another strategy they're using. Forced Furlow of all workers. Our rep called us this week to let us know he wouldn't be available next week, as Dell was telling all the sales staff to take the week off without pay.
   
   You won't see that "positive" in this quarter's results, but you should next quarter (especially if they make everyone take a week at Christmas without pay as well).

   I guess you've never had, used, or even seen a TiVo, since the suggestions are exactly what you claim TiVo "still doesn't have." TiVo suggestions are built based on what you watch in addition to what you give thumbs up and thumbs down to.

   I see the cable cartel's plan is working.They wanted make the CableCard experience so miserable that people just don't bother with CableCard devices, and it has worked. And now they are skirting around the FCC directives regarding competition by moving channels to SDV and locking out CableCard devices from getting those channels.

   So, if WS2K3 follows the Vista path, over the next couple of months we'll be seeing releases about features that have been cut until all that's left is a sort of pretty new GUI and not much of anything else.

5. Comment - Viacom: DMCA No Defense for YouTube

   Pot, meet kettle. Viacom's own online service has been shown to have copyrighted material to which they do not have the rights. It's hard to take the moral high road when your own company is bulldozing the pass. Viacom might win the case and then have to license Google's filtering solution to fix their problem.
