  1. Review - Opera for Windows

    9.02 (Sep 25, 2006)

It's too bad that some sites block Opera, but that's life... Discrimination will never disappear. But still, Opera gets it done with masking the useragent string and all that.

  2. Review - Opera for Windows

    9.01 Build 8533 Beta (Jul 17, 2006)

Why don't you report them to Opera, DrJorgeB, rather than giving a rating of 1 just because some site most likely blocks Opera from working, which is usually the case if a site breaks in Opera?

  3. Review - Opera for Windows

    9.00 Build 8502 (Jul 14, 2006)

Yeah... Still the fastest and most secure I guess :)

    "torrent, widget should be optional"

    They already are! :)

  4. Review - Opera for Windows

    9.01 Build 8518 Beta (Jul 14, 2006)

Seems to be even faster than 9.0 :o

  5. Review - Opera for Windows

    9.01 Build 8505 Beta (Jun 24, 2006)

I can't believe this! The guy below is giving Opera a rating of 1 because... Yahoo blocks it?! How is it Opera's fault that Yahoo specifically blocks it? Most sites that break in Opera are due to the sites specifically blocking Opera. Just use the new "mask as" feature and most pages will start working.

I'm not even going to honor Velocition's lame review with a real comment...

Typical of Firefox fanboys to troll Opera reviews because they are insecure about their browser of choice :(

    LOL, DigitalSin is brainwashed :D

    "Firefox is anti-big-corporate-entity\rebel-hacker culture"

Haha... right! Firefox is in fact IN THE POCKETS OF MAJOR CORPORATIONS LIKE IBM ;)

In fact, Mozilla IS a corporation!

    9.01 Build 8505 Beta (Apr 22, 2006 - 7:44 AM)

    Uh.

Opera is actually a small company. My guess is that Mozilla actually has more cash than Opera since it is in the pockets of big corporations.

Opera is a small and independent company, unlike Mozilla.

Yes, Opera is a lot better.

Oh dear. gawd21 the Firefox fanboy is at it again.

Opera doesn't have extensions? Maybe not, but it's damn close:

    http://virtuelvis.com/ar...d-firefox-extensions-ii

Anyway, it has all the cool stuff built in, and is still faster, safer and generally just better than the bloated pig Firefox :)

  10. Comment - Opera: Put Your Face in Times Square

    9.01 Build 8505 Beta (Dec 13, 2005 - 8:43 AM)

    > Did I say address bar or did I say toolbar?

You said "toolbar", and the address bar is just about the only toolbar visible in Opera by default.

    > 90% of users want a browser that works just
    > the way it did before.

Maybe, maybe not. Firefox is nothing like IE. Really! It isn't. Yet people switch.

All you need is marketing and a reason. Opera has lacked marketing, until now. Anyone who says that Opera should spend more money on features and less on marketing hasn't been paying attention. Opera has hardly spent ANYTHING on marketing for ten years. It's been a technology company. Unlike Mozilla, which has an OK product, but runs massive marketing campaigns.

    > No where in any of my posts in this article's
    > replies have I tried to flame anyone.

    You have lied about Opera.

    > Any product can get 4 million downloads if
    > they put some claim out there, but downloads
    > != # users.

So? It got the word out about Opera, which was the aim of the stunt. It was all over the place.
