Prob should have cleared arp cache between runs. And throw away first results as router had to do lookups also.

no, the idea is that LTE is an upgrade path from GSM/3G. WiMAX is all new equip. Carriers haven't recouped money from 3G investment yet, so they're not looking to drop a ton of cash.

I worked at S-E. they have zero interest in WiMax as a whole. Why? b/c their parent company is Ericsson which is pushing LTE. They dumped CDMA support years ago to go strictly GSM. Upgrade path from 3G->LTE.

That doesn't take any consideration for R&D, marketing, and support costs. those folks don't work for free and tv/magazine ads aren't freebies either, so saying it's all markup is a stretch.
