  1. Review - Avant Browser

    10.0 Beta 023 (Oct 12, 2004)

Avant is pretty good.. It still needs improvement on popups. I keep getting some of these from PartyPoker.com which appears to be running a Macromedia Flash engine to get past the popup blocker. Overall it's a pretty good replacement for IE.

  2. Comment - Holographic DVD to Hold 1.6 Terabytes

    10.0 Beta 023 (Nov 28, 2005 - 1:56 PM)

This sounds exactly like the technology called, FMD or Flourescent Multilayer Disc. It was being done by a company called, Contellation 3D back in 1999 and after the tech bubble collapsed, the company folded. If you google on FMD, you will find bits and pieces on it. It was a translucent disc which could hold over 1TB of data. Was faster than any HD in both read and writing..

they forgot those magic 4 letters after the prices.. MSRP for the CPU is $106 and $141 for the GPU... the CPU and GPU are more than likely $15-20 each.. they stamp these out in the thousands by the hour..

you guys are smoking crack.. M$ ain't losing anything on the 360. the thing is made in communist china by slave labor. almost all the components are made in china as well expect for a few parts... when suppliers can sell the premium units for $275 each in lots of 5, you know damn well it don't cost that much to make. the numbers are highly inflated just like the stock market. and there certainly isn't no shortage. WSJ had a story a week ago that said M$ has 5 factories in China making the XBOX 360 and since Sept. 1st they were churning out tens of thousands of them each day.. so do your math. 75 days since Sept. 1st and the tens of thousands claimed to be churning out. They have well over a few million ready for sale... M$ is holding back the supply to inflate the demand... and it's working...

  5. Comment - Second Night of Outages Hit Comcast

    10.0 Beta 023 (Apr 14, 2005 - 12:11 PM)

this appears to be a Syn-Flood attack on Comcasts DNS servers at a specific time. We just found a trojan on our internal network that did the same thing.. It seeks out the DNS servers and floods the hell out of them.
