Looks nice so far, downloading the 3.1 iphone OS right now through it. I never used iTunes, Quicktime or used an Apple product before purchasing an iPhone a year and a half ago, but I have always thought Apple products look well constructed. I am a happy Apple camper, however I don't see getting a Mac anytime soon and I'm not waving my Apple flag, but I like the product and to each his own. Since I have been waiting for iTunes 9 and it's rumored improvements (which it has). My next wait is for Win 7 release. Us older folks who started in the DOS / WIN3.1 times just want simple ways to manage our music on our computers and devices that doesn't involve jumping through hoops. Not giving it a 5 as I have not completly looked through the new version, but a 4.5 is in order i believe.
1.04 (Aug 22, 2008)
Version 1.04 will not load on a vista 64 machine, but 1.03 loads fine. Can't leave feedback at publishers site as the "security" no spam letter image is broken. Very frustrated with this release.
1.04 Build 20080813 Beta (Aug 14, 2008)
I have had great success with other versions, I use torrent software very infrequently. Unfortunatly this beta will not load on my Vista 64 system.

Agreed, also a problem is that telcos (at least in Florida) cannot provide naked DSl (no phone number or dial tone) by (thanks to our wonderful system of laws). So therefore distance is i believe limited. Technology is so crippled by profit making regulatory crap, however the other side of the coin is no regulation and then we would surely get bent over by the major players. It would be nice to have choices that were not tied to long term contracts. I would switch providers every other month if I had the chance and no contracts existed, till I got the price down to a reasonable rate. Then I would stay with the faster provider. I'm not asking for free service, but HSIA and phone for a buck a day sounds reasonable, tax title and delivery included. 30.00/ month. One can dream can't they?
1.04 Build 20080813 Beta (Oct 5, 2009 - 4:05 PM)
At some point in the process there is (in most real world installations) the point where it all funnels off the property. Unless you have multiple providers, with multiple technologies, with a backup redundant redundant backup array. Some how, some way it can still go down. IE: it all leaves the bulding on one fiber bundle. (which one backhoe operator can surely damage in a heartbeat). I am often suprised that with the vast amount of technology, installed by varing degrees of knowedgable individuals from outright idiots to supreme masters of the craft that things are as relaible as they are when you really think about it.
I think "Mr 30 years" must be an exectutive that lives in a fishbowl, and gets lied to by his subordinates who pray the system will work another day.

4% of Americans have no broadband access at all due to geography
(This 4% seems to be a low number, I know huge low density population areas that do not have access in FL, WV, and VA. The areas I know can't be the only places without service, I thik 4% low.
33% of Americans have access to broadband, but have not adopted
66% of Americans have adopted broadband at home
103% of the population is the population of America. I always wondered if 3% were hiding somewhere, now we found them. Thats GOVT math.
Thats a HUGE jump from 3 to 100 Mbps. Even 10-15 Mbps would be fantastic, since upload speeds will still be a trickle, it's not realistic or needed to have 100Mbps u/d to every home is it?
1.04 Build 20080813 Beta (Aug 25, 2009 - 2:01 PM)
An exactly why would I want my speed info sent to google constantly. So I can get a virtul gTicket or iTicket (depending on the device) that will cost me non virtul cash. It's only a matter of time before some municipality and some sleezy (traffic monitoring) company come together and here you go. It will happen, just like traffic cameras sprung up. Maybe this will lead to getting a ticket when you trade in your phone. The "average" speed of an "average" person can be determined over a given time and if you exceed that "average" they can assume that you were speeding and fine you. We never saw the economy crash coming, so I gusee we can just assume unlimited data collection is ok too.

Sign me up also. Class Action Lawsuits do make Lawers rich, but they set a precidence for the future. Lack of MMS has cost me countless hours and lost revenue. We used MMS to help us verify items and values at auctions and sales. It was a simple process, MMS the pic of the model/serial number and or the item itslef and my valuers would find the value and reply, simple. now its an E-mail process that takes much more time and effort. The fact that I sold my RAZR before I found that MMS didn't work on the iPhone left me stuck with the iphone. When every other phone has MMS it becomes the standard, like you expect a phone to make phone calls, I expected a high tech iPhone to have MMS.
