This program is a good way for less experienced users to remove AIM viruses in situations where an expert is unable to help them. While an expert might turn to HijackThis or a similar product to identify malware on a computer, many less experienced users would be unwilling or unable to interpret the results of the HijackThis log. AIM Fix takes care of the job for them.

Regardless of what security software you have running, you need to research programs and ensure that they come from a trusted source before you install them. Unless you use common sense when installing software, your system will not be secure. That being said, software that hardens the Windows kernel is a welcome product. httpd is right that the product is no panacea; however, if a user installs only trusted software, a product like Process Guard can go a long way to prevent unauthorized scripts from being executed with kernel permissions.

Please post actual reviews, rather than anecdotes of past experiences with older versions. The point of reviews is to tell the software developers and potential users whether THIS specific product version works. If you haven't downloaded and installed the product, do not post a review.
The product installed on Windows XP Service Pack 2 and has been running reasonably stable. The memory footprint is bigger than some competing products, but not so much to create a major inconvenience. The UI is simple, which will be helpful to less experienced users. The inbound/outbound email scanner has also been effective in finding virus-infected emails, even before the emails were dumped into my junk folder by the email client. I give this release a 3 - the features are pretty good, but Symantec should optimize the product to reduce the memory usage prior to RTM.
