  1. Review - Microsoft IntelliPoint (32-bit)

    5.3 (Sep 12, 2005)

Still no love for those of us running Windows XP x64.. You'd think they would have support for their own hardware, especially after a release (or two) after the operating system was still available.

I'm usually a MS fan, but thumbs down for this release.

  2. Review - ClearIP Monitor

    0.3 Beta (Feb 27, 2005)

If you need a program that tells you this, I'm shocked you've made it to this site...

    www.whatismyip.com
    www.ipchicken.com

    Several others too...

  3. Review - FSI - Free Disk Info

    0.27 (Dec 25, 2004)

An ignorant progam to monitor HD usage? If HD space is a problem, you wouldnt want to burn more on a program like this when the information is already at your fingertips....

  4. Review - MSN Messenger for Windows

    7.0.0425 Beta (Nov 18, 2004)

This thing is awesome. There are no ads. What you are seeing up top is the person's display picture. (Previous Windows Messenger users may not recognize it, but with MSN Messenger you can select a display picture, much like an AIM icon, but any picture you want.)

There's an "MSN today" window, like that of MS's competition, but simply turn it off. The handwriting tool is fun to play with (whiteboard with sessions), and it has all the previous utilities of 6.2, with more stuff for users to play with. (I say "play" because they are for more goofing around, like the nudge (compare: yahoo messenger), the bouncing eyes, etc). More things to express yourself with.

    A+ update.

  8. Comment - Alltel tries a social approach to mobile video

    7.0.0425 Beta (Mar 28, 2008 - 9:29 AM)

Alltel isn't/wasn't going out of business. They were purchased by a private equity firm last year, and therefore no longer traded publicly, but definitely not going out of business.

  9. Comment - MS: $4,000 for Daylight Saving Fix

enterprise level systems architect != hooking up two gameboys to play Star Trek Voyager

what tool comes to a site to brag about their title.. wait, yet not reveal the even cooler one.. Environmental Health and Safety Reaction Specialist (yeah, the one that carries kitty litter). With your awesome title, you should be able to find 4k between your cushions.

Seriously though, 4k will buy a basic server with a 2k3 license easy. Don't you catch the drift? At what point do you say "no means no"? Or in this case, "no means no, but we do have a price tag.. (as does everyone)"
