  1. Review - TeraCopy

    2.01 (Jun 29, 2009)

Yields a huge improvement to an every-day task. To the users having corruption issues, have you run memtest and your HDD manufacturer's diagnostics? Have you tried checking the hashes of files copied conventionally?

  2. Review - SLAX

    6.2.0 (May 4, 2009)

Great for my usage as a lightweight easy to modify kiosk. Just checking if the correct version of 6.2.0 is available from the download link? See http://www.tomas-m.com/blog/

  3. Review - Mozilla Firefox for Windows (v3)

    3.0.3 (Oct 1, 2008)

Steve1209 said:I had a Firefox ICON & an IE ICON on my desktop, I wanted to compare the two. When I clicked on my IE ICON it had been changed to open Firefox instead of the IE8 beta which had been working before.

You sure that wasn't a url link? Firefox won't have replaced IE8, but it does give you the option of being your default browser. Re: the release, solid as usual, no complaints.

  4. Review - FastStone Image Viewer

    3.6 (Sep 16, 2008)

Fast and well thought out with useful configuration options beyond the defaults. The skinning system is pretty annoying, the Windows Classic theme fits in well enough for me but I imagine people who use themes would prefer it to do away with its own theming system.

  5. Review - Picasa for Windows

    2.7 Build 37.63 (Aug 20, 2008)

Still the easiest image organisation app to recommend to the less technically inclined. I'm assuming release notes will appear at http://readme.picasa.com/public/releasenotes.html sometime.

  6. Comment - Google Bundles Software with WinZip

    2.7 Build 37.63 (Jun 14, 2005 - 10:02 PM)

iTunes comes with Quicktime for the aforesaid reasons, you can still choose to download Quicktime standalone, you are not forced to get iTunes unless you make the decision to download it. I don't use either iTunes or Quicktime as I prefer alternatives but you can't justify lying about the inability to download Quicktime on its own.

edit: The link by the way is http://www.apple.com/qui...ownload/standalone.html
