   Review - K-Lite Codec Pack Update

   5.1.8 Build 20091007 (Oct 8, 2009)

   Just to clarify:
   - If you already have codec pack version 5.1.0 - 5.1.6 installed, this update upgrades it to version 5.1.8, and includes newest versions of ffdshow, MediaInfo, and the Codec Tweak Tool.
   
   - If your version is older than 5.1.0, then you need to download the complete installer instead of the update!

   Review - System Mechanic Professional

   8.5.5.5 (Mar 25, 2009)

   I had same problems like Arke, and exactly like danho001 says.
   I ran the SM's one-click system cleanup, clicked "yes" to reboot, and then on startup nothing happened but getting a blinking marker in upper left corner on a black screen - and that's it! Could not even get in to safe mode!
   No Windows, no text, no blue screen, no startup beep... Nothing! Just the blinking marker!
   
   I tried booting from the original Windows XP cd just to get the message that a system repair was not possible, only a complete install that would delete all files on partition. SM deleted my system restore points too!
   Also tried Active's boot disk that told me I had a critical system boot error.
   
   So I had to reinstall XP, then I used File Scavenger to save what's left of my files to an eksternal drive, which took a good 20 hours but restored amazingly 98% of the 80Gb I had!
   
   I wrote an email to Iolo and got an totally bogus automated answer, telling me I probably had hardware problems and that I should contact the Compaq support...

   When it comes to mp3 tags I'm a perfectionist and HATE improper naming of my music, that has grown to 30K+ files from 10 years of torrent downloading.
   
   So I've tried lots of different programs to do clean up all the variations of incorrect or missing tags, and the best tool for this job is without no doubt Mp3tag! Easy, fast, and free!
   
   Thanks to Florian Heidenreich for this brilliant program!

6. Comment - AOL Releases Netscape Browser 8.1

   If I could combine the user-friendly and very smart functions (and good looks) from the Avant browser with the speed and agility from
   Netscape 8.1, I would finally stop the never
   ending search for the better browser...
