  1. Review - The GIMP

    2.3.12 (Jan 27, 2007)

i had the same problem as a bunch of reviewers, and i tried all the suggested solutions to no avail. for a product beyond version 2 to not even run (for what appears to be a good amount of users) is not a good sign. maybe they'll fix it and i'll get to use it because i've heard good things.

  2. Review - CDex

    1.70 Beta 2 (Aug 28, 2006)

beta 2 does the same thing for me still. on a fresh install of windows and a fresh install of cdex, it crashes when leaving the settings menu. the difference in beta 2 is that removing traces of it doesn't allow for 1.60 to work. so i'm stuck with 1.50 till it gets fixed.

  3. Review - CDex

    1.70 Beta 1 (Jun 6, 2006)

i've been using cdex for a while and it's my ripper of choice. 1.60 was great. 1.70 crashed when loaded, and it killed 1.60 as well. back to a fresh 1.60.

  4. Review - Mozilla Firefox for Windows (v2)

    1.5.0.2 (Apr 24, 2006)

"oh my god, it's not the browser i use, so it's gotta be a 1-star!!!"

it does everything i want it to and probably more. with the right extensions, it's hard not to like it. there is always the occasional problem with flash or some crap like java, but i've had 'the occasional problem' with every browser i've used. i've been very pleased with the pop-up blocking and the speed it enough for me. it's my browser of choice.

  5. Review - µTorrent for Windows

    1.3.1 Beta Build 389 (Jan 2, 2006)

i can't form a solid opinion of a program when i can only use it for a day before it's updated...however i'm more than happy to get and use the latest version and i'm happy they are this dedicated to fixing bugs.

some newer features (coloring every other line in the torrent list, changing upload speed for torrents after a certain ratio, always show tray icon, etc.) are pretty handy when you've got a bunch of torrents going at once. ever since a certain bug was fixed in build 377, everything has been smooth as your mom's butt, so there's nothing really holding this program back at this point.
