    Yes, the installer worked for me, I now have version 8.5.1288.816 .

    The servers may indeed be a little slow at the moment.

    My only slight worry was that doing an upgrade as I was, it first said it was uninstalling the old version first, it then moved on & there was a long delay as it presuambly waited for the servers. I do hope it had done the right thing (TM) and at least downloaded the files for the new one before removing the old :-)

    The present Betanews post states "9.5 Beta 2" & "Released: August 13, 2006".

    This is a little misleading because the download is actually 950MB2 which PGP confusingly call call "Public Beta 1" and was released "7/18/2006".

    I am looking forward to a successor to the 18 July Beta, but I do not think that this is yet it ;-)
