  1. Review - Weather Pulse

    2.05 Build 24 Beta (Jul 27, 2005)

Very well and functional program. This deserves 5 stars and more. INtuitive. logical and full of solid information. Programmer is clearly entitled to a strong thumbs up!

  2. Comment - The netbook fraud: Truth, lies, and consequences in the PC market's hottest segment

    2.05 Build 24 Beta (Jun 21, 2009 - 5:03 AM)

"They're also ridiculously underpowered for anything beyond basic workflow like editing documents, managing e-mail, and accessing the Web."
    =============================
That is the point and why they are popular. The size is convenient for travel to do quick tasks. NetBooks are not mean't to run Autocad or other intensive s/w. They perfect for what they do.

The writer seems to think that it is absolutely necessary to pack maximum power to run high demanding games etc. with netbooks. Perhaps in time as they evolve.

  3. Comment - Microsoft touches on some new Windows 7 touch methods

    2.05 Build 24 Beta (Mar 29, 2009 - 2:12 PM)

So far Win 7 seems to be way more stable than Vista. Win7 is faster, loads quickly, identifies a good deal of hardware, and renders images in a crisper manner. I am not a techie, but as a user Win 7 clearly is a better build, even in its beta config.

  4. Comment - The Palm Pre: Final thoughts (for now)

    2.05 Build 24 Beta (Jan 15, 2009 - 5:22 AM)

I like Palm products and even the ancient Palm O/S, however, companies like RIM, Apple, Sony Ericsson have produced some very excellent phones, as it is designed to be a super MP3 player. I dislike the Apple iPhone however, the Blackberry Storm and Bold provide most excellent and solid service. Sony Ericsson has produced a very fine phone in its new Xperia X1, which in my mind right now is the one to beat.

Palm will have to present a phone that is really outstanding to beat the competition, and right now, I do not see the Pre as a lion killer.

  5. Comment - Rogers, Fido detail iPhone 3G plans for Canada

    2.05 Build 24 Beta (Jun 27, 2008 - 9:13 PM)

Quite frankly the iPhone is a pile of crap, which through clever marketing by Apple, is selling a product of miniute consequence. But here is the kicker, the North American cell phone carriers are charging mega bucks, totally unjustified, in order for the consumer to use these devices. In Canada, Rogers Communications is without doubt the Prince of 'Mega Profits'. Their plans are base loaded on the premise that one will always use the included features. Most do not. The other kicker is that Canadian Carriers enforce the 'locked' down technology for any phone you purchase. One can not just go over to ABC carrier and make the thing work. NO WAY, one must pay hundreds of dollars to have the phone unlocked. This is stupid.

No problem though, on a visit to SE ASIA I purchased my family phones for a quarter of the price in North America, unlocked, and simply went on the Monthly plan. Rogers at first refused to give me the sim cards as I was a Canadian Citizen. No problem, threatened court action and they backed off.

The cell phone carriers across North America are bilking the public and it seems we do need new regulations to to control their abuse and massive profit making.

iPhones, oh yeah what a dismal little machine that is certainly not worth it.

  6. Comment - Toshiba unveils new line of stylish external hard drives

    2.05 Build 24 Beta (Jan 7, 2008 - 9:26 PM)

Now if we can get Vista to recognize them, it might just work. But really which way is up?
