  1. Review - VideoGet

    3.0.2.39 (Jul 20, 2008)

There are free video downloaders, and free video converters, but having it all in one is very nice. (Ironically, I received this program for free from Giveawayoftheday.com) :P

  2. Review - Gom Player

    2.1.0.3383 Beta (Dec 26, 2006)

For nearly a year, I've used K-Lite Codec packs, but have been frustrated with the frequent updates, confusing installation, and difficult setup. GOM Player just works, without the need of a doctorate degree to work correctly.

  3. Review - Smarty Uninstaller 2009

    1.6.1 (Dec 11, 2006)

Doesn't monitor programs during installation, it just preforms a disk/registry scan upon uninstall. It inadvertently removed good registry keys and caused a few programs to not function properly. (ie removed Google Toolbar for IE, and it removed registry keys for Google Earth.)

I'd recommend running the uninstaller for the program you're trying to remove, and then purchasing a good registry cleaner to handle the rest.

  4. Review - McAfee SiteAdvisor for Internet Explorer

    1.5.0.7 (Jul 24, 2006)

The program performs as advertised. Very useful and uses very little room on the toolbar.

This program is not censorship because it requires your authorization to be installed, and sites which are considered "dangerous" by SiteAdvisor can still be accessed.

Also, you can't buy steak and return it to the store complaining that it doesn't taste like chicken. No one said SiteAdvisor would work with alternative browsers, and you shouldn't discount it's usefulness with IE. It would be the same as me going to all of the Mac programs and giving them all 1 Star and complaining that they didn't work on my Dell. Well, no kidding..

  5. Review - RoboForm

    6.6.5 (Feb 27, 2006)

Very useful, but I will never purchase this type of program that restricts access to one computer. I use three computers reguarly, and although Roboform is useful, it certainly isn't worth nearly $100.

  6. Comment - Don't panic: Verizon will get Palm Pre, too

    6.6.5 (May 29, 2009 - 3:55 PM)

    WM bandwagon?

If Windows Mobile is the bandwagon so many avid phone users are riding on, what's iPhone and Blackberry?

  7. Comment - BlackBerry-controlled TiVo is on its way

    6.6.5 (Sep 11, 2008 - 4:05 PM)

I have one, as does my wife, father, best friend, and his wife. All of us use our Curve's differently (I probably have more third party applications than all the others combined), yet not one of us has issues with crashing. As suggested, you may want to take it in for service.

  8. Comment - Burst launches Web networks for 25-to-64-year-olds

    6.6.5 (Mar 19, 2008 - 1:47 PM)

Read the entire article, "..Burst Media today rolled out BabyBoomer Network, a series of Web sites organized into separate ad networks tailored to 45-to-64-year-olds. Together with the Family Builders Network, a set of sites geared to 25-to-45-year-olds, the BabyBoomer Network forms Burst's new Life Stages Network"

  9. Comment - Best Buy offers $50 gift card, trade-in for HD DVD buyers

    6.6.5 (Mar 19, 2008 - 1:44 PM)

How is that a great deal?? Spend $800 on two players that are now obsolete to get $100?

  10. Comment - Amp'd Mobile Files For Bankruptcy Protection

    6.6.5 (Jun 4, 2007 - 1:49 PM)

I can't believe people aren't compelled to sign up for Amp'd after seeing the commercial with the guy who makes out with his phone..
