    Very inefficient and unprofessional. If you're going to use a Windows AV solution that uses ClamAV as it's basis. why not use ClamWin?

    Bah humbug to SmoothWall. I used to run SW, then they got greedy and started only giving two squirts about their commercial products and customers and half of the developers split off and started IPCop which is what I run.

    Seems to work well. Future improvements should include the ability to log in to RSS feeds that require validation such as Slashdot. I would also like to see more placement options, such as on the left side of the title bar after the title bar text and the ability to lock it to a particular window, a browser session for example, as having it always go to the active window can cause issues with smaller windowed apps. Looking good though, keep up the good work.

    I used the "Click here to chat with us" live support chat link on their web site. Here's the log. Not exactly comforting, although without asking for a credit card or some other form of payment, there's nothing to worry about. It just makes you wonder what they plan when it goes from beta to release. At any rate, here's what their support person said.

    [Voronica] Yes.
    [Visitor] Hi, quick question
    [Visitor] in the EULA there is the following interesting tidbit of information:

    "3. BeeNut is a shareware product. It may be used as [sic] US$200/year."
    [Visitor] What does that mean?
    [Voronica] Nothing.
    [Voronica] It means nothing.

    The Windows installer doesn't work, at least not for me. I tried getting it direct from the link on the web site and it still doesn't work. :-(

    Dell sells PC's in Wal-Mart & now Sams Club, thus making it more of a pain in the a** for us Dell Premier Partners who have to deal with clients who say "...well I saw this system at Wal-Mart/Sams for $###.### less." Nevermind that it had the base proc, half the RAM you ought to have, a 5400 rpm hard drive, on board video, no Office suite, and a 1 year mail in warranty. but hey, it came bundled with a crap printer and some useless garbage software bundles that you'll never use. GG Dell, thanks. Maybe you should pay more attention to your IdeaStorm site.

    When Nextel started the whole direct-connect via your phone phenomenon many many years ago, it was intended for business use and due to the high cost for service vs. any other cellular carrier at that time, that's the way it was used. People who work in teams or groups such as contractors or consultants could easily talk instantly with each other without burning up those expensive cellular minutes. Then as the cost of the service went down, they started buying phones for their spouses and children, next thing you know other carriers are jumping on the bandwagon to claim their piece of the pie. It's just like all technology, it eventually trickles down to the personal consumer level. I've had Nextel service since the early 90's and I love it. I'm an IT consultant and I regularly work with groups of engineers and contractors and being able to communicate back and forth without using up my phone time is great, especially when I'm assisting hands-on with a project and one of my partners is assisting me from say the other end of a client facility.

    I wish Sprint & Nextel could devise a way to merge the Sprint PCS & Nextel iDEN networks. *sigh*.
