  1. Comment - Blu-ray could be Blockbuster's bailout

    (Mar 16, 2009 - 7:38 PM)

Read it and weep people. This is current news. HD-DVD may have changed slightly, but this new technology is based on the same initial format. CBHD. Warner is already onboard for now, and this is China only. But for how long?

You wait. HD DVD will make a comeback. I'm still clinging on to both my HD DVD players and the tons of low price HD DVDs I bought on sale.
    HD DVD will prevail!!

  4. Comment - The word is out, Xbox 360 Pro coming cheap

    (Jul 10, 2008 - 8:25 PM)

Before you do keep in mind the Xbox Media Extender does not play Flash or Quicktime movies. I know. I've tried to remedy that...especially if you want to stream online channels through TV Tonic or any other RSS feeder software..and most channels now will only release RSS feeds as Quicktime files nowadays. Shame really. Otherwise it works pretty well.

  5. Comment - GTA IV leads surge in US video game sales for May

Maybe they could also get their Xbox Media extender to play M-Peg 4 Quicktime videos, that way people could actually use their Xboxes to replace their cable TV setups and view the hugely abundant online channels that are available.
The way it's rigged now it's only PC friendly, and for those investing in a console that does more than just gaming it would make sense to use the Xbox as the centerpiece for home entertainment.

I have it set up right now through my Windows Media Center XP laptop but the Xbox is proving to be a very limited extender cuz it fails to support a vastly popular video format...
