  1. Comment - Asus Eee PC celebrates first birthday with sub-$300 price

    (Oct 20, 2008 - 8:50 AM)

I work as the IT Manager for an ag company in Illinois.

We purchased two of these laptops to put in our fertilizer spreaders, connected internet to them through a local cellular provider and use them to send spread files back and forth.

6 months later, the laptops are running perfect, not one problem and in the work environment that we put them in (in the fields inside of fertilizer spreaders), they are working beyond expectations.

  2. Comment - Blockbuster raises its online rental rates

    (Dec 22, 2007 - 10:15 AM)

Blockbuster just lost a customer. We don't have a Blockbuster anywhere near where I live. Matter of fact, while Netflix might have been a competitor, Family Video was a bigger one. I haven't rented anything from Family Video in 6 months (coincidentally the same amount of time I have had Blockbuster) but $16.99 (no place for dropoff so I only mail back) was my price point. $18.99 will end my membership.

It was a nice run but I suppose I will just switch to Netflix. Nice job Blockbuster. You pushed me away.

  3. Comment - Judge Orders Halt to NSA Wiretapping

    (Aug 21, 2006 - 8:35 AM)

It's not the illegal wire-tapping that I personally have a problem with. I don't do anything wrong nor do I make calls overseas and even if I did, I wouldn't be worried about it since I am not sure what keywords their eavesdroppers are listening for anyway.

However, where does it stop? The line was drawn with the Bill of Rights and now those are slowly being erased as a matter of convenience for the government. How long before an administration removes a woman's right to vote because the majority of the women support another policy or repeal slavery because it labor costs are too high and this would give some relief to businesses with their high costs?

I know, totally absurd and way off the mark but who would have ever thought that our 1st and 4th amendment rights would be bent in such a way that the line is blurred to the point of no recognition.

  4. Comment - Judge Orders Halt to NSA Wiretapping

    (Aug 18, 2006 - 11:13 AM)

I have decided to throw my hat into the Presidential race in 2008 [terrorist]. My platform [terrorist] is quite simple [terrorism]. When I need a boost, [terrorism] I will just remind everyone that we are committed the war on terror [terrorism - WTC - bombs] and finding those responsible for making us live in fear [terrorist]. When I can't find them [terrorism], I will find a way to infringe on Americans rights guaranteed (not warrantied) under the Constitution [terrorist] in an effort to locate them. Afterall, I will be the President [terrorist], the big cheese, the Chief Executive of the US and Presidential discretion [terror] will be mine to use...well, at my discretion [terrorist]. With this platform of using [terrorism] strategically placed terroristic terms throughout my Presidency, I will be in office for 2 full terms [War on Terror - Bin Laden - Saddam - Afghanistan - Iraq]

Seriously, though, it is the challenge of being a leader in the greatest country in the world to make decisions for this country that will keep us safe without infringing on our rights guaranteed under the Constitution. If a wiretap needs to be put on my line, a warrant should be issued. If a warrant isn't issued, there is probably a reason or lack of one for that not happening.

  5. Comment - Sirius, XM Struggle to Appease FCC

But you know, I would happily replace the radio in my car with one that has satellite, FM and AM bands on it without having to have a device mounted to the dash of my car.
