Well... they do create something: they have some very creative, minimalist and pleasant to the eyes shells for their ripped off software. To me, the core of Apple's success is incredibly tasteful Industrial Design and a brilliant approach to marketing. That's it. All the other stuff? OS X, iLife, etc. etc. has either been ripped off from someone else or acquired. When it comes to actual hardware or software innovation, Apple's contribution is close to zero.

So windows copies Mac? What about time machine, alt-tab commands, command prompt windows, remote connectivity to a different machine, minimizing to a single icon of the program, windows explorer dual navigation panes, address bar and control panel? Those existed in a PC first. Just because Apple has great industrial design doesn't mean they are the end-all be-all in Operating Systems.

By the way, the way things are going, Ad blocking add ons and software will end up blocking Betanews if they keep posting infomertials. Scott, you need to resist the temptation... no matter how much Sophos pays for it.

Heck... if Microsoft could, they would add MSE and be done with the controversy, but then again, people complain of Microsoft monopolizing the Browser market for including a Browser which --like the Antivirus-- has become an essential tool in an operating system, they will not be able to. It is a shame because the end user is the one who has to live with the lack of proper protection from the moment they start their computer for the first time.

Fatty, you are missing the point. Nobody is claiming Windows media Center is THE source for TV content on the internet. It just adds a very convenient tool for those people who like to stream their media outside of a monitor and into a TV. It is nice to have both a repository of different media sources in one location and a Media expander that allows you to watch said content in a living room. All of this without the hassle of having to download X, Y or Z media extender which may or may not cost additional money to use.
