   You seem to be forgetting that IE7 is the standard browser now, not IE6.
   It does support standards somewhat better than IE6, although IE8 is what most people are waiting for.

   Have you tried the ATI catalyst drivers for the past 4 or 5 years?
   Never had any big issues with them, and very stable.
